Excellent presentation of why no way in hell should the U.S. be involved in this ISIS conflict in the Middle East.

Yep, Sykes-Picot is necessary to understand why the Koran says to kill all infidels.
Oh, we’re poor little victims the British set up funky borders for us! That’s why we want to RULE THE ENTIRE WORLD.

Sykes-Picot merely laid a framework for the current ME unrest and violence that is endemic to Moslems societies, tribes, groups of any sort. It is not even a proximal cause. It just laid out the spaces on the board. It has no bearing on whether there is Mohammedan violence against Jews and foreigners and against each other. Moslems have been doing that for 1400 years.

This whole argument actually goes back to Genesis and who is the legitimate son of Abraham. Isaac or Ishmael? Reason being is that the covenant God made with Abraham would pass to Abraham's son.

Genesis records in three places that Isaac was Abraham's son, his only son.

The land is Israels. Nobody elses.

Any baseball fan knows about the Balfour Declaration... [Hint: NSFW]

OK, I'll be serious. We didn't have to be involved, because we could have done what we had the chance to do seven years ago: remove the worst of the terrorists from Iraq via the surge, helped the Kurds gain the autonomy they have wanted for at least 100 years for which they would have remained our forceful allies, surrounded Iran on all sides (Iraq/Turkey on the west, "stans" on the north, Afghanistan on the east, Sixth Fleet to the south) and contained her while supporting the later 2009 uprising--and drill-baby-drilled in north America, complete with pipelines, trains, and tankers, to make the Middle East and Russian fossil fuels less and less relevant.

It is because we didn't do any of the above after January 2009, however, that we are stuck having to clean up the mess now--and to be honest, we won't be really cleaning up the mess until at least 2017, and not even then if Hillary! replaces the present occupant of the Oval Office.

I agree with Beck that European powers carved up the middle east arbitrarily, causing problems.

And I especially agree that Europeans chased the Jewish people out of Europe and their colonies - and they are responsible for the creation of the Jewish state, as a last refuge from European slaughter.

And it ticks me off when these same Europeans take the side of the Palestinians, as if the Jews are some uninvited guest in the region.

But Beck forgot something. ISIS has put out graphics showing their domination of the ENTIRE WORLD. Not just the Levant - the whole world.

No Mr. Beck. That is NOT what is driving ISIS.

Doctrine is that which drives ISIS. Any student of theology (and one does not have to be a graduate of theological studies) will tell you its about their systematic theology. It's really that simple. Their books which they derive spiritual governance, gives them direction.

It isn't anything more complicated than that. There are a metric shit-ton of scholars that have already stated this (as if anyone needed the comfort of having scholars weigh in on the issue).

Stop muddying the waters.

Right, Glenn. It’s all Europe’s fault. Those poor Muslims with their grievances only want what rightfully belongs to them.

This is the new “mellow” Beck who would rather be Walt Disney than Rush Limbaugh, I guess.
