Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States, grew up next to a leper colony in Liberia and fled years of war before later returning to his country to find it ravaged by the disease that ultimately took his life.
Duncan, 42, arrived in Dallas in late September, realizing a long-held ambition to join relatives. He came to attend the high-school graduation of his son, who was born in a refugee camp in Ivory Coast and was brought to the U.S. as a toddler when the boy's mother successfully applied for resettlement....

Some other “media” outlet said he came here to marry his girlfriend. Whatever sob story they can come up with will work I guess. Break out the tiny violins. I still say he came here because he knew that he had been exposed to Ebola.
sounds like the canonization has started. Rush predicted this today.
He came to attend a high school graduation....in September?
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
How many ding bats in this crumbling nation will catch that little detail?
I’m sick to death of what is happening in this country.
Listening to these guys having their protest in St. Louis right now. Nothing that is the result of having barry destroy us, is going to end well, none of it.
Lift your feet! Here come the alphabet news pimps with their steaming wheelbarrows of horse-flop, the human dung beetles rolling their huge balls of you-know-what into the room with their hind legs.
So was he a deadbeat dad that abandoned his kid in the US or was the baby momma using her pregnancy and “anchor baby” (Duncan’s kid) so give her legal status? It’s one or the other.
It when the GED’s graduate
Oh please. They reported days ago that the kid went to try and see his daddy who he hasn’t seen or spoken to for 16 years. This is a sick attempt by the media to reframe this issue.
He came to America to see his beloved son, whom he hadn’t seen since he was 3, graduate from high school in late September. Sure, don’t all American kids graduate in late September? Oh, well, maybe it was to marry that Dallas girl while on a tourist visa. Or maybe it was to get out Ebola stricken Liberia to a Western hospital.
Correction - that 3 year old from years back was a daughter from yet another baby mama who he got pg at the same time as Louise. Still, all these stories are nothing but big fat ebola oozing lies. Are we sure the Kenyan isn’t a Liberian?
Rush was right again. They are trying to turn him into some kind of martyr.
How many people who have tried for years to get to the US, or even have a non refundable airline ticket are going to answer the questionnaire on exposure honestly before getting on that plane....
It’s not just the MSM. freeper Sherman Logan attempted to assure me on another similar thread that Thomas Duncan is actually—Is he room temp yet? He seems to be a, if nothing else, Ebola aside, vigorous African gray parrot death-dodger—and a prince of a fellow, says Sherman, so that we shouldn’t regard him with fear and loathing for lying about his physical condition in order to use one of our intensive care facilities, and putting the nation at risk of dying by bleeding-out.
By SL’s lights, and others who agree with him on such things, I suppose, we ought to ask JEB to give ol’ Tom some sort of medal, if he survives.
AMEN. I might be the only person here who felt sorry for this man. Maybe he didn't know the pregnant woman had died from Ebola (instead of a pregnancy complication) before he left Liberia. And, if he did know, he probably wanted to believe that he was safe because he had no symptoms.
The fault really lies with our government in turning a blind eye and letting people come into the country from affected countries. Also at fault is the hospital for turning him away the first time.
And this will sound like a conspiracy theory, but he probably wasn't given the same treatment as the Americans for political reasons: If the U.S. were to give the same medicine to a foreigner, other foreigners will lie for sure to come here for "the cure." Does that sound far-fetched? It's what I'm thinking.
I am sorry- the first thing I thought when I read your reply.
I have my own ideas about why and how this one came here. Non are very respectful of our elected leaders(collectively).
I also wonder why patient 1 landed in Dallas and patient 2 landed in Wisconsin- could it be payback by the current regime.
For Ebola Victim, US Trip Followed Telling A Lie
Fixed.
