OSCILLOCOCCINUM: Yay or Nay?
Trader Joes ^ | 12/13/14

Posted on 12/13/2014 10:33:00 PM PST by BunnySlippers

I have had what seems like the flu or 2 or 3 weeks. It is a killer sore throat, moderate cough. But it is the sore throat that is killing me.

Anyway, I just dragged myself out to Trader Joe's to buy something tempting and thought I would check out their tiny medicine section.

I saw and bought Oscillococcinum which was hiding on the bottoms half. I know nothing about it except what I just learned in Wikipedia.

Does anyone have experience with this stuff.

Thank you for the reminder. Chloroseptic is great since it numbs.

Yeah, I’m on my iPad and the spell check is hilarious. But I always have to read before I post. Something I don’t like to do.

Normally I buy Nyquil without acetaminophen. Liver.

I am sohhh not in the mood and I am absolutely gonna be sick in the morning or afternoon at best.

CVS has a version that is acetaminophen free and sugar free but, not tonight.

So, hopefully my Irish genetics protect me.

If it’s strep and not going away, you may need a prescription.

If the doc confirms strep, you’ll need around 10 days of antibiotics - maybe amoxicillin or cephalexin. You’ll feel better in a few days once you start knocking it down.

The BEST bar none for sore throats and I think I’ve tried it all but I’m really impressed with the quick results from these colloidal Silver/ Zinc lozenges ACTIVZ. I think they are expensive but they work quick...great for children...tastes great.

Another thing that will kill the bad stuff in your mouth and throat is Oil of Oregano. There is a product called OregaSpray which will help greatly. Oil of Oregano kills, it’s extremely effective.

It is a homeopathic medication, which is to say that it is a complete waste of time and money.

For your throat, this is the sovereign medicine:

Rock and Rye (click here)

As I remember, rye whiskey saturated with rock sugar in the bottle. Maybe some other soothing ingredients also.

Cool!

I hadn’t heard about rubbing it on feet. I am talking about a little spritz in your mouth, then after swishing it around a minute, swallowing it. It will dissipate shortly.

But only a little spritz. Incredibly powerful.

Sounds like a quack drug to me.

good, I think it will help you out. Zinc, Magnesium, Selenium will help with the other stuff that’s been mentioned. The elderberries stuff will boost the immune system to fight back harder.

I grew up around a lot of serious homeopaths. Man, they are the sickest people I know! They have parties where they compare various types of sugar pills, and the imagined cures.

Of course it may be that homeopaths tend to also have other obsessions — vegan/vegetarianism, psycho allergies, and conspiracy theory mania.

My advice: EAT, SEE AN (”ALLOPATHIC”) DOCTOR!

Rock and rye has some distinct merits, but if I were to use it, I would no longer to be able to say that I have not used alcohol for twenty-nine years. (not making any moral statements here.)

Yeah, I know. I have a whole host of doctors I love and trust at Cedars Sinai Hospital.

Nothing clears up an aliment like a REAL pill with REAL drugs in them.
