I bought my daughter a .38 special snubbie for her HS graduation. Not long after that she and her mom were driving to Lake City Florida, about 120 miles, when the transmission failed at 3AM on I-10.

This was before cellphones, not much traffic so they just sat there.

A pickup truck pulled up and a pair of scuzzballs got out and offered to help. Mary told them she was waiting for a trooper. One of the men insisted on helping, tried to reach in over the window.

Mary rolled out the snubbie and ended that plan.

She was hunting with me when she had to ride on my shoulders. She will use that gun if she needs to.

“He tried to reach in the window.” Amazing how just the sight of a firearm in the hands of would be “victim” can diffuse a bad situation. Shots don’t always have to by fired.
