Imagine a social-justice version of the Girl Scouts.
In Oakland, California, one alternative scout troop is far more socially active than their counterparts across the globeand theyre not affiliated with the Girl Scouts.
They call themselves, Radical Brownies.
Their mission? The Radical Brownies empower young girls of color so that they step into their collective power, brilliance and leadership in order to make the world a more radical place.
There are no badges for stitching, taking care of pets or being a good neighbor. Radical Brownies badges earned are custom-made, and reflect our social justice and culturally-inclusive values. Badges include Radical Beauty Badge, Food Justice Badge, Radical Self-Love Badge.
This social-justice version of the girl scouts is a relatively new endeavor by group organizers. In the video below, co-founders Marilyn Hollinquest & Anayvette Martinezco discuss why they decided to create the group. In short, their goal is to show young girls what the world would look like if it were free of isms:

Those berets theyre wearing arent coincidental, nor are they a Parisian inspired fashion accessory. Theyre an intentional nod to the Brown Berets and Black Panthers. According to the groups organizers, the Radical Brownies are inspired by movements grown by the community; movements that fight for justice for their communities and seek alternative ways to look after and represent themselves. The berets pay homage to the spirits of the Brown Beret and Black Panther movements of the past.
Starting small, the Radical Brownies have big dreams. After taking a year to fine tune the curriculum, they hope to, see the program grow and expand to other cities.
In yo face, whitey!
Dr. Karenga will be pleased.
Maybe they should just call themselves the ‘Radical Brownshirts’? I am so sad that Leftists are intent on taking away childhood for so many. No innocence, no happiness.
At least one of those girls is smart enough not to allow her picture being taken wearing one of those stupid looking hats.
I’m not calling them Brownies.
I guess they don’t want to be called what they really are: Young Pioneers.
Look it up if you don’t know.
By "grow" they mean get government grants.
Wanna flip a coin to see if they'll qualify?
they don’t realize how leftist the girl scouts are huh?
I was in military intelligence from the age of 17 and my father was a career Marine in classified communications and you think I don’t know what the Young Pioneers were? Damn.
in other words, you don’t have to actually earn a badge, you just get it because you deserve it for being you?
It’s close to child abuse, in my view. Trains young girls to be perpetually angry, entitled, authoritarian, dishonest, intolerant, and racist.
and what is that, a tattoo shop in the background?
Radical Libs should be their name. What BS!
Too bad the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University no longer exists, huh?
Oh cute, radicalize them while they’re young. The Hitler Youth and those young kids ordered to kill US troops were among the most vicious fighters. So I think these kiddos will be the next militant generation of Black Panthers.
Frankly, they’re showing it’s not politics, it’s race. I’m glad they’re being so blatant this time around. They’re being open and honest, which is refreshing.
“Dr. Karenga will be pleased.” So would Kurt Gruber of the HJ if he were still around. What next? Brown shirts, ties, shorts, and armbands.
Yeah, the one with the “Black Power” salute.
THis is the world their parents chose and this to me is the world the girls are choosing. The one little girl on the bottom left looks like she has potential to be particularly militant.
Meet the Radical Brownies, no white girls allowed!
