How to stop Drudge Report and other websites from automatically reloading

YesScript 2.0

by Jason Barnabe

A JavaScript blacklist

About this Add-on

YesScript lets you make a blacklist of sites that aren't allowed to run JavaScript. Use YesScript on sites that annoy you or hog your system resources. One click to the icon in the status bar turns scripts on or off for the current site.

Unlike NoScript, YesScript does absolutely nothing to improve your security. I believe that Firefox is secure enough by default and that blocking all scripts by default is paranoia. YesScript strives to remove hassles from your browsing experience, rather than add them.

This add on for Mozilla Firefox lets you turn off Javascript for any individual website of your choice. This makes those webpages load much faster, and stops them from automatically reloading.

Drudge Report in particular has caused problems for me as it takes so long to load, and then when I finally get to start reading it, it keeps automatically reloading again and again and again so I can't actually read it. This add on stops those problems. Now Druge Report loads super fast, and never automatically reloads.

NoScript works fine too.

I’ve seen auto-related sites and local tv news sites with up to 60 scripts.

I already solved the problem - I don’t go there.

Reading Drudge on an iPad is a horrible experience. Breitbart is even worse. You load it up on your iPad, and just when you start to scroll down, it reloads.

That is now what tweaks you now..

Get your mom to have a peek at that sentence structure.

Get a life.

So.. you commenting on my post is fine.. but my commenting on another post needs "get a life"?

I think you need to review all this and get back to me.

You seem to be stepping into some "fail".

Yep

NoScript is a blacklist tool.

YesScript is a Whitelist tool.

Pretty much black and white...or racist...

Circular architecture has its advantages.

NOSCRIPT does all of those things (a click to enable or disable a script) AND remembers whether you want it permanently or not.

AND, as you say, NOSCRIPT provides security.

So how is the new add on better ?

NoScript may be a blacklist tool, but it has the option to do whitelists as well.

So... NoScript in inclusive of everything that YesScript offers.
