Well, if Duvall is right, please tell us all how a person’s world view would NOT impact their behavior and lawmaking sensibilities? To me, his comment is untenable. I could not in any way, shape or form, encourage abortion precisely BECAUSE I understand that the Scriptures tell us man is made in God’s image and murder is wrong. Based upon the animal kingdom, eating other organisms is perfectly all right. So, exactly upon what basis would Duvall propose any particular law?

Also, religion and politics should be completely separate. Like Math and Science should be completely separate.

My politics is grounded by my faith. If Duvall does not understand that at his age there is no hope for him.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

You stated you agreed 100% with Duvall’s statement the the GOPs stance on birth control is a problem. I want to know what exactly is the stance you agree 100% is a problem. What is that stance?

You claim the GOP has a stance on birth control and religion?
Would you share with us what they are?

Here is the problem when you say keep religion out of politics.. it assume a postion is only supported by a religious reason and not a rational reason.. that is a logical fallacy.......most all religions prohibit murder.. but does that mean prohibiting murder is the goverment taking a religious position?...
It is valid to strip away the religious overlay on any given position .. but once you do you still have to honest enough to examine the position on it own reason..the reason for prohibition on abortion and gay marriage stand on their own without religion just as prohibition on murder does... if your intellectually honest

Also, the anti-slavery movement in the US started with a bunch of gun-toting Christian “fanatics” known as Quakers.

He’s wrong. You cannot expect a moral person to separate who they are from who they are.
You are either a moral person who votes morally, or you are a fractured person who has no morality.

Robert Duvall is 84 years old and a millionaire many times over. I don’t think he cares anymore.

Duvall seems to be confusing the GOP with the Catholic Church.

No, not all of them, but the ones of his I have seen lately have mostly been disappointing. “Get Low” is about the only one I can think of that was decent, in his recent output.

Isnt the GOP stance on birth control that people should be able to buy it?
