I have always felt that this exclamation by Jesus was proof that he had become fully "man" and left his heavenly fullness as the Son of God to accomplish his saving feat.

What could be more lost and alone than to be without the presence of God that he lamented in this verse. This meant he completely gave up that "one little toe still in heaven" advantage...... IMHO

“””””” These words are the first verse of Psalm 22, written a thousand years earlier. Psalm 22 is the prayer of a righteous sufferer, the psalmist experiencing a situation in which he felt like he was being abandoned by God. The psalmist was experiencing unjust suffering at the hands of evil men. “””””

The psalmist was God. People including David would approach the Tabernacle and “sit in the shadow of God”
A scribe was always nearby to write down what was said especially when King David approached and starting praising God and dancing and worshiping.
