Fraud and the IRS

I have believed for close to 20 years that the 16th amendment was never properly ratified and that the IRS and all the shenanigans we citizens go through every year is ILLEGAL. For all of my adult life, I have spent 6 months dreading tax season and then 6 months worrying if maybe I had done something wrong when filing them. This year, when our tax preparer (for the first time in my adult life, we actually hired a preparer as I believed that a citizen should NOT have to pay someone else to do their taxes, as it should not be that difficult for ANY citizen to complete). When our tax preparer submitted our taxes this year, they were REJECTED because someone has already filed with OUR SSNs. SAME for one of our sons!!! We had to mail in the forms and check WITH COPIES of driver’s license AND social security card. Was informed by one person that it will probably take at least 6 months to straighten out... (I hope those who committed this fraud actually HAVE TO PAY what we owe ‘cause it is a huge amount.) You do not even want to know what my thoughts are...

I'll give you a hint: F*CK the IRS. F*CK Obama. F*CK our so-called elected representatives. I do not know what to do, but the current situation is RIDICULOUS.

Why is no one reporting on this... the government is the preferred conduit for identity thieves.

That happened to me last year. I requested to know who it was, were they prosecuted and what exact information of mine did they have and use to file a fraudulent return in my name. I was told I would never find out.

My thoughts are it’s an inside job within the IRS. It is prevalent enough that they have all of the forms ready for such a situation. We stupid serfs are just supposed to take it.

I have my return prepared only because I don’t trust my poor eyesight and math skills. My tax guy told me about this fraud and obtained a password to be used with the IRS. Supposedly, this password would identify the return filed on my behalf as the correct one and any attempt to file without the password would be rejected.

It did take longer than expected to obtain my refund. I wonder if someone did try to file a phony return under my name and SS number. Never heard anything about it, so I don’t know what the holdup was.

Great. Now, an IRS insider can REALLY steal your identity.

This also happened to a friend of mine yesterday.

1. Always file a paper return. It will take longer to get a refund but is much safer.

Until this year, I have filed a paper return. I told my husband that I am tired of worrying about filing taxes for 6 months and then worrying for 6 months if maybe I did something wrong. I have prepared and filed our taxes during the entire 30 years of our marriage.

Sometimes expletives communicate one’s idea better than ... aww, what the h*ell, other words. (Our daughter was about 4 years old... She looked down on her blouse where something had spilled, and she questioned, “What the h*ll?” I replied to her what was she talking about as proper ladies do not use language like that. She responded to me, “Isn’t that what you say when you don’t know what it is?” (Perhaps I am a bad mother. NOT.)

Our tax Accountant told us how the fraud works. When a person files their tax return, the first one to get in the IRS system gets the refund. IRS doesn’t even check the W-2 information for “validity” until months later after folks have received a “refund”. Very hard to find the frauds as they quickly change addresses and they have refunds put a green dot card or loaded on a VISA card (not deposited into checking, etc).

Oh they won’t have to pay anything. They make up fake W-2’s using stolen SS numbers. They probably claimed 10 kids, Earned Income Credit, etc and will get a return of like 15,000.00.

An illegal alien I was familiar with had 38 aliases, and had over 100 stolen ID's & SSN's in his possession.

The government is literally laughing in our faces. They own you, your car, your home, property, assets, and accounts etc.

Pay up or else. And keep paying.

*****
Ain’t no doubt.

Usually WE have ended up paying the “government” at tax time. Apparently, that is a plus and what we will strive for in the future! (Sure do wish the thieves were to pay what we owe instead!)

It is a shame that an individual *must* hire someone to complete a tax form AND THEN discover fraudulence.

No best efforts or work ethic anymore.

Seems to me it is all about who can steal/lie without getting caught. (Ooh. That sounds familiar... Billary, Odumbo, McStain, Chappaquiddick, Watergate...)

Oh. H*ll. Obviously, we are merely a peons.

Don't forget crony capitalism/corporate welfare. It comes in all kinds of forms. They get away with evading many hundreds of billions in taxes. Very depressing stuff.

Wow. “The man” isn’t merely a reference to the “powers-that-be” anymore - as in the ‘60s and 70s - or perhaps that is a figment of my naivete.

Now, “the man” is not only the pseudo-elites but the low-lifes as well.
