It is fairly common to suffer from caregiver burnout and that can manifest itself in many ways. My wife feels like a failure for everything we couldn't get for our son, for every denial of service, for not living in an area with more extensive services. The reality is that she never gave up fighting, and that in itself is its own form of winning. We constantly run into parents that accept poor standards in school, being denied care both by insurance and public assistance, that accept that the system is too big for them to battle. We moved across the country, at our own expense to get better services for our child. It was a lot of work, I miss my old lifestyle, but it was so worth it.
