By now, the story of the Duggars, the family features in the reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” is all too familiar to those who follow the sordid side of the news. When Josh Duggar, now an adult, was found to have molested four of his sisters when he was an adolescent, the show was cancelled and Duggar was obliged to resign from a position at the Family Research Council. The glee with which the Left has treated the news of a fundamentalist Christian family having been found to have a dark secret has caused Sarah Palin to rouse herself in outrage, not so much at the Duggars but the media.

The left hates hypocrisy more than the actual crime.
If the Duggars were a bunch of red diaper babies, it’d be brushed off.
Rather sick that people get enjoyment out of such a sad story.
Part of the screaming wrong of this scene is a wrong idea (that even might still be shared in part by the Duggars) that to be Christian is to have arrived, in some sense. You now get to be on the Committee That Wags Its Finger At Other Sinners. And since everyone loathes being on the other side of that interface, seeing that group brought down seems like joy.
The classic evangelical idea of Christian is not that, though. It is “saved SINNER” with emphasis on the SINNER. These are people who know they get F’s in God’s school and for whom a Savior is always an absolute must, not the ones who think they get A’s.
Being yielded to Christ means to show, on earth, a transformation in progress from being like hell (the devil is the accuser of the brethren, lest we forget) to being like heaven. God’s desire in this is that it only serves that the Duggars lose their worldly rigidity and become more flexibly godly. If there’s a beef with the Gothard program I have, it is that it is legalistic and rigid. But God will not leave that situation alone.
Last year the Guardian had op ed supporting pedophilia...this could be why the left did nothing as one of their own admitted to this pervvy behavior. The Duggars aren’t on the “right” side politically so the Left can’t show support to them.
I’ve never seen any indication that the Duggars thought they were perfect. They certainly didn’t preach to the audience. They simply show how they deal with a large family.

They sorta did especially Michelle who spoke out against abortion and transexuals using the bathroom of choice. I was happy to see it. Michelle was ahead of America on the situation with transexuals. Now that ship has sailed too thanks to Bruce/Carley? and other nonsense. Michelle is a treasure to have but like most parents failed in their duty trying to protect their son while not doing enough for the daughters. Parenting is the hardest job on the planet.
Sarah Palin, just go away. And take the Duggers, your white trash kids and “Caitlin” Bruce Jenner with you.
