John Boehner’s Tawdry Character

It’s not new. Blackmail, extortion, and dirty pool in politics have, like disease-ridden ticks, found easy hosts for decades. J. Edgar Hoover had dirt on everyone who stepped across the line. The Mafia had dirt on him – he was a closet homosexual.

All came to mind recently when Ohio Republican Congressman John Andrew Boehner, the 61st and current Speaker of the House, allowed Obama to push through the far-reaching and disastrous “CRomnibus” budget bill. The Political Insider expressed its astonishment this way: “Why, after a massive Republican landslide victory on election day, would Boehner act in such a strange way?”

Seeking to come to grips with the fiasco, WorldNetDaily.com (WND) reported: “He drinks a bit. That is well-chronicled… The tabloids have splashed headlines about torrid affairs, including one with a lobbyist… And, of course, he cries in public.”

“But is there more to the personal story of House Speaker John Boehner that would explain his funding of Obamacare and an executive action providing amnesty for millions of illegal aliens in his budget accommodation with Democrats?”

Credible conservative voice Matt Drudge, who outed President Bill Clinton on “the blue dress,” i.e., Monica Lewinsky affair, recently tweeted about the budget fiasco: “Obama got EVERYTHING. NSA dirt on Boehner must be incredible. Chicago wins.”

By everything, Drudge was referring to the CRomnibus bill that passed like an Olympic ice skater through the lower chamber because, as reported by conservative blog platform Western Journalism, “The National Security Agency (NSA) has some information that could ruin his [Boehner’s] career.”

Incredibly, the CRomnibus bill completely funded both the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, AND Obama’s amnesty. With Democrats not controlling both houses now, and Republicans controlling both houses in the weeks-away new term, the passing of this pro-Democrat budget bill is otherwise inexplicable.

He drinks a bit is a gross understatement, if the threat to out him on that were proffered as a reason, and everyone seems to know it.

As reported by CapitalHillBlue.com, when Boehner became Speaker of the House in 2011, “More than a few Republicans shook their heads in disbelief. Speculation was rampant that it would only be time before the new Speaker would be caught drunk in public.”

Not surprisingly, according to FreedomOutpost.com, “Boehner topped a short list of alleged alcoholics that circulated within the Beltway.” Google “John Boehner alcoholic,” and you’ll engage yourself with many sordid and assorted “tales of his habitual drinking and carousing with Capitol Hill staffers.”

“Is John Boehner a drunk? Of course he is,” a House GOP aide said his boss grumbled to him. “He’s a boozer.” This exchange was reported widely by numerous media outlets.

Reported on FreeRepublic.com: “My friends and contacts on Capitol Hill from my days as a Congressional staff member (press secretary, chief of staff and committee staffer) from 1981-87 and a later stint from 1987-1992 as Vice President of Political Programs for the National Association of Realtors, tell me that Boehner’s bouts with alcohol abuse are well known around Capitol Hill and the subject of much concern…” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3109437/posts

Often the truth surfaces only when a fellow Congressman’s unbridled rise to power no longer silences his words. A case in point is fallen U.S. Congressman Bob Ney, also an Ohio Republican, imprisoned for his role in the Jack Abramoff scandal.

“The corrupt political system desperately needs changing and House Speaker John Boehner is part of the problem,” wrote Ney in his tell-all book, “Sideswiped: Lessons Learned Courtesy of the Hit Men of Capitol Hill.” Boehner hits the links with his golfing buddy Obama

“I’ve known John Boehner for over two-and-a-half decades,” writes Ney. “But John Boehner has always been, and this is my opinion, but I think the opinion of many, on the lazy side in the sense that he’s a get-along guy. He doesn’t like a lot of controversy. He’s always enjoyed the golfing. I would have to term it an addiction for John Boehner.”

“I’m not calling anyone an alcoholic,” Ney adds, “being a recovering alcoholic [myself], but I’ve got to tell you John Boehner is a constant drinker of wine. He’s been seen with lobbyists for decades on a nightly basis and drinking. I’m not judging him, but I think it’s part of the story.”

Why not judge him? A guy who drinks every night to excess is an alcoholic, plain and simple, and it blurs his judgment, causing him to do inexplicable things. Commenting on the “CRomnibus” spending bill, Judson Phillips of the Washington Times observed: “How did Mr. Boehner treat the American people who just gave the Republicans a mandate? He gave the American people and the conservative base of the GOP the middle finger…”

Why would he do that? Tobefree.com answered the question broadly: “Dr. Stan mentioned this in his interview with Joel Skousen, yesterday, who again stated that about 3/4 of Congress are compromised.” According to Skousen: “75% in Congress are Blackmailable, while only about a dozen Congressmen are both clean and willing to fight the system.”

“It’s time the Congress begins to challenge these illegal forays into legislation and reassert its exclusive authority to enact laws,” Skousen stated.

“It’s time to raise the threat of impeachment and tie it to the illicit use of Executive Orders. But that won’t happen as long as the dirty tricks boys in the FBI have incriminating files on about 75% of Congress. Only about a dozen Congressmen are both clean and willing to fight the system.”

Recently Brian Williams asked Boehner before a national TV audience to name one program – anything that came to mind – that he’d cut, and he simply couldn’t remember any. Despite advancing the GOP agenda for over two decades, his alcohol-saturated mind – what else could it be? – denied him one example. “I don’t think I have one off the top of my head,” Boehner said in reply. Say what?

“Five days before Christmas, Boehner stood before the Republican-controlled Congress—his Plan B alternative for avoiding the fiscal cliff defeated by lack of votes from his own party, a public humiliation and repudiation of the Speaker’s authority, rare in House history,” Salon.com reported. “Choking back tears, Boehner faced his colleagues and surrendered himself to a Higher Authority: ‘God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference’.”

“The Serenity Prayer was an odd choice for a guy whose drinking had drawn years of public and private scrutiny,” Salon.com adds. There’s even a blog called Drunk Boehner dedicated to chronicling his inebriated meltdowns. Read it here:

Boehner’s drunkenness, of course, is not where the buck stops. Though the story was first broken by the National Inquirer, the “JOHN BOEHNER SEX PROBE” of 2011 also gained substantial momentum separate and apart from his drinking exploits. “New Speaker of the House JOHN BOEHNER is embroiled in a bombshell sex scandal – involving at least two different women,” The Enquirer reported salaciously.

“Capitol Hill insiders and political bloggers have been buzzing about an upcoming New York Times probe – detailing an alleged affair that the 61-year-old married father of two had with pretty Washington lobbyist LISBETH LYONS,” ToBeFree.com reported.

“And an ENQUIRER investigation has uncovered a bedroom encounter that Boehner – second in line of succession to the presidency – allegedly had with LEIGH LaMORA, a 46-year-old former press secretary to ex-Colorado Congressman JOEL HEFLEY,” the National Inquirer article asserted.

Of course, lest we forget, it is also the National Enquirer that broke the John Edwards scandal.

Even the New York Post reported: “Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair. Sources say the Times is looking for the right time to drop the story in October to sway the election, similar to how the Times reported during the 2008 presidential campaign on an alleged John McCain affair that supposedly had taken place many years before and that was flatly denied by the woman in question. ”

“Catching Boehner with a mistress is the only way to destroy him politically before the election,” a source said.

Lisbeth Lyons herself seemed to deny any entanglement with Boehner, stating to a news source: “As you can imagine, I was stunned by such a question… I found it to be highly insulting, particularly as a female political professional, as well as unfounded. Beyond that, I have no further comment on the matter.”

Drinking and philandering are often just the tip of the iceberg. There are reports as early as 1995 that Boehner lost his moral compass early on. Counterpunch.org, a popular political news magazine, reported:

“Led by John Boehner, a small group of congressional Republicans helped engineer the 1995 political takeover by Newt Gingrich. Following 40 years of Democratic majorities, the change may well have been overdue. However, once installed as Speaker of the House, Gingrich appointed Boehner to a high leadership post, Chair of the Republican Conference, from which he created and nurtured the sordid relationship between corporate lobbyists and Congress that now, ten years later, has scandalized Capitol Hill. The resulting money, ethics, and moral scandals have since toppled Gingrich, Delay and sent Republicans such as Duke Cunningham scurrying off in shame or to prison.”

“In 1995 Boehner began meetings with corporate lobbyists each Tuesday in a room just off the House floor. At those meetings the nation’s most moneyed and powerful lobbyists met with the new Republican House leadership.”

“The ideas for legislation, amendments, appointments, regulations, and often the actual writing of legislation was dispensed to these corporate money changers. Imagine it, a weekly meeting under the Capitol Dome during which the very essence of our Republic, the writing of law, was bartered away to lobbyists representing companies whose businesses ranged from pharmaceuticals, energy and banking to mining and tobacco.”

Back in 2006, NBC news reported: “House Majority Leader John Boehner rents a basement apartment from a lobbyist whose clients had an interest in legislation overseen or sponsored by Boehner, according to lobbying records.” Golfing, of course is not a crime. Nor is excessive golfing, unless you’re a Congressman and the golfing at expensive country clubs is paid for by someone else who wants your influence. A lesson in this regard can be taken from the recent conviction on multiple counts of corruption, including accepting expensive country club golf outings, of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell.

Ney further wrote: “If the Justice Department were ever to make John produce receipts for his addiction to golf just for the years from 1995 to 2004, he would be hard-pressed to comply. John got away with more than any other Member on the Hill.” ==========

The problem, above and beyond the obvious, is that all of this scuttlebutt makes an aspiring Congressman vulnerable to blackmail, extortion and pressure that force decisions and actions contrary to the best interests of his party and America. This can impact everything from the War on Terror to the continued survival of America.

In his book “Terrorism, Retaliation and Victory — Awaken the Soul of America to Defeat Terrorism Without Casualties,” Colonel Brian M. Rees, Medical Corps, US Army Reserve, wrote: “In the 1995-96 election cycle… influence peddling became so brazen that John Boehner of Ohio, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, handed out a half dozen checks from tobacco interests to other Congressman on the floor of the House. The story was broken by the New York Times and House rules now forbid such activity…”

Mark Twain once said: “… there is no distinctively native American criminal class except Congress. For Boehner, there’s so much dirt in the air, and so much opportunity for blackmail, extortion and influence, that it’s only a matter of time before he slips the big fall.

The English word BANE means 1) poison (e.g., henbane); 2) woe; 3) destruction; 4) source of ruin or harm; 5) curse.

BANEFUL: 1) productive of woe or destruction; 2) seriously harmful.

John Boehner is a man living out his name, homophonically, on a WashingtonDC stage.

There is no proof.

It is a liberal smear, performed and perpetrated, oddly enough, by people who claim to be tolerant of homosexuals.

I find it amazing. It is a tactic of the left. They smeared Whittaker Chambers with it. They smeared Joseph McCarthy with it.

And they smeared Hoover with it.

It stemmed from an anecdote in a book by an extreme far left lib who said Hoover would attend homosexual parties with crowds of people at them, and would dress as a woman.

It boggles the mind to think people actually accepted this. Hoover had enemies, a LOT of enemies, and oddly, doesn’t it cross anyone’s mind that, perhaps, someone would have got a picture, had multiple people correlating it, etc?

The stupidity of people who believe the smear astonishes me.

It was probably his association with Roy Cohn. Smearing him because of his associations.

The drag stuff is ridiculous. And, yes, it’s amazing what people believe.

I believe you are correct about Roy Cohn being the basis for that.

Someone puts out the lie, and others repeat it, and so it goes.

How on EARTH did we end up with this nightmare as Speaker?

We got Boehner because the rank & file beltway GOP is just as bad. He’s just a reflection of them, unfortunately.
