The Border is safe, secure, one of the safest cities in Texas with a low crime rate says Xochitl Mora, the erudite spokeswoman for Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz. She cites the extremely valuable symbiotic relationship which the city of 250,000 has with its neighbors in Mexico and all across Texas and the southwest. “The U.S. relies on the $280 Billion trade, 60% of which goes through Laredo,” she said as she stressed this huge amount would not be possible if Laredo were not secure.
She explained that Mayor Saenz will greet Donald Trump when he lands in Laredo, “just as [he would] any visiting dignitary.” But the Laredo Mayor will not accompany Border Patrol Union Leader Hector Garza who invited Candidate Trump (an invitation since cancelled by command of AFL-CIO) to tour the border areas with him. Mora indicated the Mayor, also, will attend their press conference. But clearly, her explanations were not in total agreement with Trump’s decision to visit this large city that sits immediately on our Southern Border.
She said that the immigrants crossing over into the U.S. mainly are Hispanic, hard- working family members. “They are not criminals.” (1)
But my dear friend who knows the area well, has crossed back and forth there often and was born and raised in Texas, disagrees. She moved to South Florida to be near her daughter and family after undergoing severe breast cancer surgery and very difficult chemo and radiation treatment.
She told me of the terror her brother and sister-in-law experienced at the hand of illegals. One day her brother was sitting on the patio of his lovely home in South Texas and felt a presence nearby. He looked up, and a gun was being pointed at his head by an Hispanic man...

He needs to start screaming for action now! If we wait until the election, till he’s sworn in, till he’s able to get a bill in front of Congress, till they fight it out and approve/disapprove . . .
Well, that’s too late. Trump has the nation’s attention right now, put pressure on those losers in Congress to do something now.
Let's be clear here.
It's not just because of the rapists, drug dealers and murderers that we need to secure our borders.
We need to secure our borders from all illegal aliens.
I think that message may be getting lost with Trumps message only being about rapists, drug dealers and rapists.

He said that this didn't make sense, they bring drugs to America and sell them here and then take the money from Americans who buy the Mexican drugs back to Mexico, not only is that harmful for America, but financially bad for America’ and no he wasn't saying that we should be selling drugs, we need to stop this lost revenue from OUR country....
