Bernie Sanders: Open Borders is a ‘Right-Wing Proposal’
MRC TV ^ | July 28, 2015 | Ashley Rae Goldenberg

In a recent interview, presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) called open borders a “right-wing proposal” and vocalized his opposition to an open borders policy.

On July 16, Sanders sat down with Vox’s Ezra Klein for an interview. During the interview, Klein asked Sanders about his identification as a socialist and its implications for his policy positions. […]

At one point during the conversation, Klein began to ask Sanders, “You said being a democratic socialist means a more international view. I think if you take global poverty that seriously, it leads you to conclusions that in the US are considered out of political bounds. Things like sharply raising the level of immigration we permit, even up to a level of open borders. About sharply increasing…”

Sanders interjected, “Open borders? No, that's a Koch brothers proposal.”

“Really?” Klein asked.

Sanders continued, “Of course. That's a right-wing proposal, which says essentially there is no United States…” …

He’s already had involvement in the CPUSA. And all so-called “democratic socialists” participated in the Socialist Internationals traditionally.

Sure, if you believe his lies. Forgot about his association with the CPUSA?

You’re falling for this, out of someone who worked with the CPUSA in the past?

Remember Harry Reid said that “no sane country” would have open borders, at one point? He didn’t go so far as to call it “right wing”, like Sanders is clumsily claiming and then pointing to left-wingers as evidence.

Why, just because he lies like Harry Reid and Hillary?

Harry Reid was once “right on this one issue for a long time” as well. Verbally, like Sanders.

Well, I don’t know about Dingy Harry, but Sanders voted against G. W. Bush’s amnesty bill because Sanders said that it would take jobs from Americans. And the outcome of that vote was pretty close right up to the end, so I think Sander’s vote counted.

“The reason the rest of the Rats have gone over is simple: the immigrants now are non-whites. And if there’s one thing the Rat party is desperate to do, it’s add as many non-whites to the population of the U.S. that it can. They live to replace the hated Evil White People with Saintly Minorities...who won’t be minorities much longer.”

NAILED it!

Then the White liberals will one day find out that they’ve been hoisted on their own petard.

Lots of libs were against S. 1348 because of how it focused on traditional families. Sanders was no unique star in that sector of space.

The Republicans led by the Chamber of Commerce want amnesty, increased legal immigration, and major increases in guest workers. Sanders is right about this. However, the Dems support the same things. Both parties have abandoned the American worker and respond only to their corporate paymasters.

He is a traditional socialist and this is the type of thing they would believe in. I don’t hik he would say something like this if he didn’t believe it as this stand would hurt him. He does not seem to have the guile that the obamas and the Clintons have. But, then that is one reason why he would be easy prey for us in the November election which is the real reason I want to see him nominated.

Sort of. Bernie's view wouldn't have been unheard of among some Socialists 50 or 100 years back. It's from the labor or populist part of the Old Left. The Old Left didn't overdo "white guilt" because it could always blame the capitalists for everything.

There are also intellectual or internationalist or bleeding-heart types who would disagree with Bernie and go in for something very much like open-borders. Today's labor movement is more favorable to mass immigration because that's where it sees its new members coming from.
