I thought Cruz was wise not to criticize Trump or his supporters. That anger at the status quo could be the momentum Cruz could ride.

Rand Paul and Christie look to be early casualties, as is Rick Perry with his lack of funding. The herd will be thinned soon.

I also liked Rubio, until his amnesty position came up and that was after he was co-opted by the party elites.

Cruz has been the only consistent conservative and he’s a great debater. Would love to see him roast the Dem nominee in a few debates.

I agree right down the line of your opinion.

I also liked Rubio very much, believing a new generation is coming and he was just the one to engage it and energize it with conservatism. I still retain regret that he blundered off the reservation so boldly and caused such lasting mistrust. I surmised it was the Bush influence he may have practiced and tried to peddle, with a little stroking by the treacherous Republican leadership, who was likely using his chops to deliver their agenda. Too bad.
