Passion is an Asset

I believe this is my second vanity and will probably be the last for another several years. From what I have been seeing, I believe it has at least a modicum of useful relevance.

There seems to be a few folks getting their panties all twisted up so they have begun composing their elegies with plenty of hurt feelings and runny noses as their chosen form of expression.

They think many are being hurtful and mean to them and it really torques their sensibilities when they are point-blank asked if they contribute to a specific candidate or to FR - questions that arise from their single-minded attacks on Trump and others while adding nothing useful to the mix.

Pointing out negatives is fine - we need to be informed. Obsessing on "could be items" and twisting or omitting data is another and seems to be the main source of those who jeer at them and hurt their feelings.

I am willing to fess up - I've been a royal pain in the butt for many here.

There is reason behind my madness - it has become evident that many are riding on the backs of those who pay the bills and take positive action towards trying to get the best possible candidate on the slate. They seem to think that their "eloquence of punditry" is value enough to add to the mix - even though most have only negatives to add and nothing towards a solution.

To them I say; if you want a free ride for your "artistic expression" apply for a NEA grant. I believe that those who add nothing to support FR should not be allowed to post or comment. Is $5 a month, or even a freaking quarter, too much for the privilege of being part of FR?

These folks also get incensed because they are offended by some of the reactions to them. I submit that, when folks feel passionate about a topic, they will express themselves with passion and most understand that others will respond to them in like manner. They are also wearing big enough panties to take it in stride as a normal tit-for-tat event. Such discourse, rude as it can get, also ensures that everyone gets to express themselves and that has never been a bad thing unless one believes, as the Progressive Left does, that it is a crime to offend another and that real discourse and argument is a detriment to the agenda. To them I say, you are in a forum that has nothing to do with the "Party Values" you espouse when sobbing, "Make the bad man (or woman) stop!"

An oft-quoted adage here is, "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.".

I'd like to add, "If you invest in nothing, you stand for nothing" and all your words are is just that - words".

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Moderators - if you believe I am out of line, please inform me forthwith so I can decide whether to tone things down or accept that my welcome has been revoked - I trust your judgement.

GO CRUZ!!! Keep it up Trump!

I realize I rub a bunch of folks the wrong way and any punishment i may need to take for it is fine by me - crybabies never make useful assets in any endeavor.

We’ve been paying a dollar a day for several years now. We don’t see that as a burden. It is one place you can speak your mind, within reason, and not be hunted down by the lefties for revenge. Yes, some people take offense, but nobody is forcing their beliefs on anyone else, just expressing them. This is not a brainwashing rag. My only complaint is that it seems that some articles are posted way too many times over way too long a period of time. That doesn’t mean I have to open them every time, but it does get to be a drag sometimes!

Fuggetaboutit.

That said, the first sentence of any article or any novel or any written thang...should capture the sould of what's about to be said.

Case in point.

Consider the first sentence of Vladimir Nabalov's novel Lolita (one of the finest novels ever written--certainly a disgusting topic but consider the actual writing).

Lolita, light of my life, fire of my lions. My sin, my soul: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta.

Now that's the way to write...whether an article, novel, or love letter.

Until you can do that...stop with the vanities.;-)
