had planned to comment today about Wednesdays GOP debate. But after watching it I thought, Whats the use in devoting a whole column to it when it can be summed up in a couple of paragraphs?
The military-industrial complex should feel secure. Regardless of which faux-conservative takes the nomination, more money to the MIC and more wars are in our future.
For a while there, I wasnt sure whether I was watching a campaign for U.S. president or Israel prime minister; and for some of the candidates Im still not sure (Huckabee, Cruz, Rubio, Christie, particularly). But overall, there was much more concern expressed about protecting Israel than there was about protecting the U.S. from foreign invaders that are already here.
No talk about shrinking government. Little about reducing spending (but a lot about growing the military budget). Some passing lines about shifting tax burdens around (consumption tax, flat tax, tax on the wealthy), but no truths about taxes and the Federal Reserve. Israel good. Hillary, Obama, ISIS, Iran, Russia, China bad.
It was too much even for neocon Ann Coulter, who tweeted, How to get applause from GOP doners: 1) Pledge to start a war 2) Talk about job creators 3) Denounce abortion 4) Cite Reagan 5) Cite Israel.
Besides, I saw a news item about the move in Congress by some conservatives to oust John Boehner as House Weeper that caught my attention.
According to The Washington Post, a growing number of Republican lawmakers who support Boehner are fearing a backlash from conservative voters if they continue to support him.
Boehner confidant Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) described conservative voters who expect Congress to govern conservatively in interesting if not oxymoronic terms. From The Post:
This is a continuation of the strange virus thats running through the Republican Party, which I define as a weird form of right-wing Marxism where people are using Saul Alinsky-type tactics, Nunes said, likening the conservatives to the late radical activist from the 1960s.
So expecting so-called conservatives to be conservative is akin to a strange virus? And in what world is Marxism right wing? Only in the District of Criminals.
Dear reader, that, in a nutshell, is what the Republican establishment thinks of the rank-and-file Republican voter. And that is why anti-establishment candidates like Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina are surging in the polls and have more support than the others combined.
Americans will suffer abuse only for so long. It seems the tipping point has been reached
Government is a big money game elitists from both parties use for their own ends and to get reelected. We can stop this by placing term limits on Congress and appointing senators by a vote in the respective state legislatures as was done until 1912.
If a Marxist is someone who wants to completely wipe out any vestiges of a GOP establishment coward RINO political hierarchy in our government, then I guess I am a right-wing Marxist.
I want it all burned to the ground, scorched earth, no prisoners.
I despise that orange-skinned fruitcake, as well as the chinless one in the senate, every bit as much as I despise Obama or anyone in his administration — because they are on the exact same team.
Obama’s agenda has advanced on every front since Boehner took the helm of the House.
The Republican agenda has advanced on nothing as far as I can tell.
Carly Fiorina isn’t anti-establishment, she’s a globalist into low cost visa tech workers and offshoring degreed labor.
Ted Cruz is anti-GOPe establishment. The Carly-Trump catfight this week served as a 30 minute distraction from the conservative constitutionalist on the stage.
I agree—but it’s never going to happen. It takes a determined egotist to even want to run for office-—and once there, they don’t want to leave ..
Boehner sees a Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy. He makes Hillary smile.
Boehner and his confidant must be hitting the bottle when they make crazy comments like this. A Marxist wants governmentbto intrude into their lives and socialize everything. I’d say conservatism is about as far away as you can get from that. Stop trying Alinsky tactics, lefties. They’re getting old.
Problem is they want to do it to us first. From cops being shot to Christians being imprisoned the pace will only pick up quickly. #blacklivesmatter gets invited to white house after calling for cops to die.
I can’t wait to see what the kenyan muslim/gay/marxist cracker hating hybrid has in store for us the next 15 months.
The truth is that they don’t really give a damn what we think. They just spew out crap and the media laps it up like a dog on vomit.
Drunkard Boner has lost touch with reality.
I believe he’s self-medding with blatant, excessive alcohol consumption as he tail spins further into what he perceives as reality.
Right-wing Marxist = oxymoron.
The only ones that used anything close to such a term in the past was the USSR, when they accused fascism of being “right-wing socialism” and even called the New Deal “right wing”.
“Liquidation of the Geriatric Old Plotters as a class.”
Hmmm.
Has potential. Needs some refining.
Good article BTW. Thank you for posting it.
Boehner confidant Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.)—I’ve never heard of this guy. Must be the bag man who shuttles the dirty cash from the Chamber of Corruption to the Orange One.
I liken him and his partners in crime to traitors.
