There was an AC-130 freely available at Sigonella, our Navy N.A.S. on Sicily.
We also had another one at Djoubouti, the old French Foreign Legion base, where we also have a drone base.

I worked with an officer that had recently detached from active duty. His last station was as an officer for the teams at Signonella. He didn’t talk about specifics but said this whole deal was dirty and the military hated where they had been cornered.
