The Secretary of State in NH has been sued by a GOP opponent in the NH primary, to remove Cruz from the ballot on qualification/eligibility grounds. Opponents in election have standing. Black letter law. Cruz will probably argue that the court should not decide, because only Congress has the power to decide eligibility.

Still, Cruz has a venue and a case with which to obtain an answer from the federal court system - if he wants to take advantage of the opportunity.

If you remember, NBC status & Constitution were "Trumped" the last time around when Obama was allowed based entirely on a certification letter from the Dems declaring that he was eligible for the presidency.
Sadly, the entrenched elite (including the Donald for now) of the GOP would likely refuse to certify Cruz because he has consistently defied their program.

Yep, I saw that, and I think that is going to be interesting to follow.

Personally, I do not want the court to punt. If congress is not going to act on clarifying this, some authority needs to.

Regardless of Cruz in particular, I want this matter settled.

I think if Cruz did argue that the court should not decide, that would disappoint me.

If you are eligible, then you are eligible, if you ain’t, then you ain’t.

I really don’t like the possibility of my vote being invalidated by this somewhere down the line.
