Interesting idea with win-win-win potential. Brick and mortar stores can become smaller with significant rental, staff, and pilferage reductions. Bulk paid for freight drops, everybody wins. Buyer saves time, gas, and gains security over door step drop off, especially on big ticket items.

Exactly. Aside from the staffing (loss of jobs? move to order fill?) it WOULD appear to be the way to go.
Add similar/smaller ‘outlets’ for damaged, returned (too $$ to ship back), etc.
In our area, Sears has a main store in town with everything and a smaller satellite store on the Amish side of town, just a store front with lots of appliances.
