The Ghost of Democrat politics future visits Republican nominee Ted Cruz

It is July 22, 2016 and the Republican Convention held in Cleveland Ohio has just concluded. By various maneuvers and compromises with the RNC, Texas Senate Ted Cruz has narrowly won the Republican presidential nomination.

The Democrat convention the next week in Philadelphia nominates Hillary Clinton. She lost most of the primaries but used Super delegates to steal the nomination. This causes a huge split in their party because angry Bernie Sanders supporters don’t like having the “evils” of socialism rubbed in their noses.

Uneasiness in the Democrat Establishment follows. Yes of course the polls show Clinton beating Cruz but in their hearts they know these are merely feel good polls designed for fund raiser letters. They take a wait and see attitude, but by early September the polls begin to look like the September 2008 and 2012 polls with the Republican uncomfortably close.

Enter Florida Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson. He stayed strangely quiet for months and hasn’t threatened a lawsuit over Cruz’s eligibility to be the president given his Canadian birth. Since every law suit against Barack Obama’s eligibility failed, the Republicans thought the threat was over. It was not.

Timing his action to cause the most damage, Grayson files a suit and demands it be rocket-docketed straight to the Supreme Court. The matter is filed just before Labor Day and...

The most unrealistic part of this scenario is that Cruz can win the Republican nomination. He cannot. All he can do is help his new little buddy Rubio.

But if Cruz could win the nomination, then this scenario would be absolutely correct.

Anyone who really believes this scenario is reminded that Trump was right and that Cruz’s eligibilty should have been addressed upfront. But you woudln’t have to wait past July 22nd for the DNC lawsuit to be filed if Cruz became the nominee.

Which, fortunately, he won’t be.

Hey Coach,

Doesn’t matter which because Rubio is not eligible either. He is an anchor baby born to two Cuban nationals.

Hillary Clinton lost most the primaries and used super delegates to won? Lol.She has one all the primaries except one- in a state next door to her opponents. She may win all the remaining primaries except Vermont, if Sanders hasn't dropped out. This author is an idiot. Carrying water for the Democrats.

Grayson is on the verge of being kicked out.

If Democrats are seen trying to remove the first Hispanic nominee for president it will hurt them a lot.

The entire scenario is preposterous on numerous levels:

(1) No case can be “rocket docketed” directly to the Supreme Court, which is only a court of appeals.

(2) Hillary is not losing most of the primaries.

(3) There is no plausible scenario under which Cruz gets the nomination.

I could go on.
