Most of us are beginning to lean (not choose) toward a presidential candidate, one more than the other. None are without blemish, as they are all human. Ted Cruz has a solid record of conservatism, but his wife Heidi worked for the hated Goldman Sachs, resigning when her husband declared for the Oval Office. Mrs. Cruz was at one time, a member of the liberal, hated Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Freedom Outpost had an informative post and video in March 2015 on the Cruzs and the CFR. The video and video transcription is the main interest here.
The video interview was done by Derrick Broze, a blogger/activist/citizen/journalist. At the time, Cruz was a 2012 candidate for the U.S. Senate from Texas. I have a few comments about the interviewer after the transcript.
Remember that this was in 2012 when Cruz was running for a first term in the US Senate. His Republican opponent was David Dewhurst, the Lt. Governor of Texas. Dewhurst lost the runoff election to Cruz, and Cruz mentions Dewhurst in the video.
Youll also hear Cruz refer to Medellín v. Texas.
The irony of this attack is that the biggest case in my tenure as Solicitor General was Medellín v. Texas, and Medellin the World Court, the judicial arm of the United Nations issued an order to the United States to reopen the convictions of fifty-one murderers across this country, and on behalf of the state of Texas, I stood up. I fought the World Court. I fought the United Nations, I fought the President of the United States. He was from my own party, it was George W. Bush, but I went before the U.S. Supreme Court and said no President has the constitutional authority to give away U.S. sovereignty. I won 6-3.
Ted Cruz responds to question about Heidi's membership on CFR. ...video at link.
In the Freedom Outpost article (March 2015) Garrison rightly asks us to put all biases aside, including Brozes words about coaching and asks do you think Teds explanation is sufficient.
I Do.
Was he able to keep a straight face?
It doesn’t address the issue of CFR and the North American “Community” that Heidi Cruz has signed off on.
I hear or read, she is on a LEAVE OF ABSENCE...
She did not resign...Ted looses, she returns to work for the GS wall street billionaires...
As usual telling ‘fairy tales’...
I will continue to support and vote TRUMP.
‘Worked’.
Past tense.
But she’s still there, just on leave.
Does she still have the ID badge or not?
.. It doesnt address the issue of CFR and the North American Community that Heidi Cruz has signed off on...
But, it is the kind of deflection answer many are tired of hearing from Washington politicians.
Cruz/Heidi would be Bush III
Pray America wakes
It says he fought Potus and the World Court and won on the Potus not being able to give away US sovereignty.
Well, ok.
But that doesn't have a thing to do with his wife supporting a CFR initiative to bring about a North American Community.
You are exactly correct Sasparilla
If doesn’t get his wife to repudiate her wanting open borders from south to north well the cruzers are gonna start defect to the other cubano or TRUMP perhaps:-)
Thanks for the link.
Heidi Cruz Heidi Cruz was the daughter of missionaries who spent a lot of time overseas helping people and bringing them not only relief, but the Christian values we embrace. She eventually went on to graduate from Harvard (again, on her own dime and not from some fabulously rich family). Heidi worked for the Bush administration on economic policy, eventually becoming the director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council under National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice in 2003. In 2005, she joined Goldman Sachs, serving as a private wealth manager. That means handling accounts of over $40 million and giving investment direction. She took a leave of absence without pay for her husband's 2016 presidential campaign. Allegations about her supporting and contributing to a New World Order are completely false and the whole smear against her was done in Teds Senate campaign by the opposition. Heidi was an international investment banker who was invited to be part of a working group at the Council on Foreign Relations which reviewed a notorious 2005 paper called Building a North American Community which was largely authored by Robert Pastor and is the presumed origin of the idea of the North American Union, though Pastor has repeatedly denied that it contains anything like that. Heidi Cruz role in all of this was as one of a large panel of readers and her sole identifiable contribution to the project is a one-paragraph response in the final appendix in which she says: We must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses. This is simply necessary to sustain a higher living standard for the poorest among us truly the measure of our success. As such, investment fund sand financing mechanisms should be deemed attractive instruments by those committing the capital and should only be developed in conjunction with market participants. So basically, her role here is to say that free markets and free trade are the answer to greater regional prosperity. Amazing. Republican principles in a few sentences and suddenly she is accused of being part of the NWO? You can read more here Anatomy of a Smear
More lies from the Cruz camp? It was widely reported at the time that she took an unpaid leave of absence from Goldman. She didn't resign.
They must think we have a really short attention span.
Which says nothing except:
‘yeah, she worked for the NWO, but if you think she worked for the NWO you’re a conspiracy theorist communist pinko, so there!’
And his defense of US sovereignty in court, against the UN, and against the Bush administration proves that this is his point of view.
Oh! The great awakening was eight months ago when the “Donald” decided instead of a liberal democrat he was a conservative Republican....just in time for the ensuing election. It was a miracle!!!
