The Cuban Mistress Crisis: what are its short and long term effects?
The Coach's Team ^ | 3/28/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Like everyone who cares about the survival of America instead of the survival of the Republican Party and the jobs of a few hundred leeches in and around Washington, I carefully weigh each new bit of news regarding the candidates.

I am a Donald Trump supporter so I am concerned with what happens on the Republican side of the arena. The Democrat side has its own problems as they are running headlong toward nominating either a Communist or a Felon with an indictment hanging over her head.

The most important news this past week was the revelation that Ted Cruz has had at least five and may even eight mistresses during the recent past. After the initial explosion over this story, those who have supported Cruz have been largely silent and content to change the subject. Mark Levin-who very often tweets six times a day-was silent these past few days.

Others who regularly tweet both famous and ordinary people have either withdrawn from the fight or turned on Cruz.

The Washington Times reporter who publicly confirmed at least two of the affairs has been fired but still stands by his story.

It is fair to say a few things about what is being called the CUBAN MISTRESS CRISIS...

The NE has a history of being right? Just ask Carol Burnett.

The establishment doesn’t know what to do here

They even knew of Cruz’s “problems” I guess they were hoping they get to out him right before the convention and had the nomination over to JEB or Romney.

But right now is a disaster for them

The Cruzbots have been curiously eager to look the other way on this, as if St Ted is beyond reproach. The only squawking I hear from them is feeble attempts to blame the whole scandal on Trump despite evidence to the contrary. Sad. These people are no better than the die-hard Obama supporters who still stand by their man no matter his attempts at destroying everything this country once stood for.

Mistresses could make Cruz more Trumplike, thus increasing his appeal, right?

The article starts off stating as fact something that the NE reported as rumor. No need to read further.

Her lawsuit had nothing to do with a sex scandal.

The term “rat” means something here

Yes, time for Cruz to prove the Enquirer is wrong.
Make them show you the proof.
Now why has Cruz not sued the Enquirer-WHY

If this is lies the Enquirer would be making a retraction now.

Of the two - Trump and Cruz - we are only certain of one who most definitely cheated on his wife(s). Over and over.

Presuming its true, the alternative is Trump, who is an avowed womanizer. I'm shocked that Trump hasn't come out to attack Cruz on the low number aspect of the story.

And repeated as fact here.

So we took our missiles out of Turkey.

Heck, in hindsight, I would have just let the Russians have Turkey.

would only work if Cruz wasn't trying to sell himself as the divine choice, that he was sent from God to rule America, the pure consistent conservative choice. I could see it working for someone who wasn't trying to sell themselves that way

At least it brought the 500k donation to Carly issue to the forefront.

Still waiting on the answer to that weird donation.

It all depends. If this is a one-off "scandal" published by the National Enquirer, this race shuttles along much the same as before.

If there's a followup with more substance, then he's sunk.

I suspect this is a "death by a thousand cuts" story. Under my scenario, there will be a steady drip-drip-drip of allegations. There is an awful lot of circumstantial "evidence" in the blogosphere.

I'm wondering what the NE has lined up. Maybe nothing. Maybe a kill shot.

Assuming for a moment that the story is true, which I'm not saying that it is, but...

Trump's past is an open book. It doesn't seem to matter to people supporting him. Why? Because he's not presenting himself as a paragon of virtue. He's not presenting himself as "true" conservative.

OTOH, Cruz has been preaching to us from the beginning. He's presented himself as a white night, above reproach, beyond human frailties.

That is the difference between the two in this matter.

Remember the National Enquirer going after Carson when Carson briefly started challenging Trump in the polls? “Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patient’s Brain!” Why would the National Enquirer publish such a story?

“…Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. “They’re very close,” said a source close to the Enquirer.”

Why does anybody believe these stories?

When people believe Trump is a conservative messiah it should come as no surprise they also view the National Enquirer as a legitimate news source.
