Confirmed: Demoralized Cops Equal Higher Crime

Jack Dunphy

Gentle readers, fasten your seatbelts. We are about to embark on a virtual tour on which you will join me in a Los Angeles Police Department patrol car cruising some of the city’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods. We will be patrolling the LAPD’s 77th Street Division, which year after year ranks at or near the top in violent crime among the city’s 21 patrol divisions. The Los Angeles Times tracks crime in more than 200 communities across L.A. County, and five of the top ten on the list are in 77th Street Division.

Leading the Times’s list, with a violent crime rate of 145.7 per 100,000 residents, is the deceptively placid-sounding Chesterfield Square. Somewhat strangely, there have been no homicides reported in the area in the last twelve months, though this is perhaps owing more to the efficacy of Fire Department and emergency room personnel than a lack of effort by the local hoodlums. During that same period, the adjacent areas of Hyde Park and Vermont Square have seen 12 and 13 murders, respectively. Not far away, the Florence area, patrolled by 77th Street and the neighboring Newton Division, has seen 21 murders during the same period.

So it’s a lively part of town we’ll be touring, though not in the sense that attracts tourists to other, more glamorous sections of the city. No, this is South Los Angeles, the area tourists can see out the airplane windows just before landing at LAX before spending the rest of their vacation avoiding it.

Our tour begins at six in the evening in the roll call room at the 77th Street Station, where our watch commander informs us on the latest crime trends and instructs us on the methods the department’s upper chain of command..

The upper chain of command can be down right obstructing of good police work.

America has fallen through the Looking Glass and is now controlled by the worst of our kind—thoroughly debauched moral imbeciles, psychopaths, cowards, sell-outs, human parasites, and so on. Another example: Army Lieutenant Clint Lorance Gets 19 Years at Ft. Levenworth because He defended his Troops against Islamic Jihadists

“And we might see that video become a national news story, one that will prompt the police commissioners, the mayor, the governor, and even the president of the United States himself to offer their unschooled opinions on the deficiencies of our actions.”

In a nutshell.

And it is happening in damn near every city, town and hamlet in this country.

I teach just a couple miles east of Florence and Watts. There are a lot of nice kids here. But yes, I can spot the little gang-bangers, too. If I can hang in there 5 more years, I can pay off my student loan and retire. It’s not that I don’t want to teach anymore. It’s that I don’t want to be in Los Angeles anymore.

My water bill is NOT averaged with the guy across town who's too lazy to walk outside and turn off the garden hose he left on...

Why should my neighbors and I pay the same for police protection as the community across town that thinks cops should play ‘daddy’ to their out of control delinquent sons?

Change the way citizens pay for police protection and the FIRST horror to end will be the “NO SNITCH RULE”. If "Nana's" being charged more on her cable bill for 'community police use' she's gonna report the little thugs vandalizing shops... rather than pay for their antics every month. The second horror to fall will be the wrong types running the neighborhood. Thugs will be OUT and wise elders will return to their rightful spot at the top of the pecking order.

It goes against human nature to protect people who hate you, even though it is God’s way.

Why would a sharp cop be demoralized about not putting himself in danger? Its clear the community doesn’t want them around so patrol the affluent neighborhoods where you are welcomed and stay in your cars if you have to patrol the ghettos. Look straight ahead, drive on by and let them police themselves. Then go home and night, hug your families and sleep well.

If they are going to ride around and shoot up their own, then let them have at it. Blacks yell, scream and lose their minds when a cop or white person kills a black. Those are FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. Blacks kill more of their own than anyone else kills of them. Chicago, Atlanta, LA, you name it, they kill their own. If that is the way they want to do it, or if the Hispanics in those cities do the same, let the have at it. They kill their own to have control of the hood, the drug trade or the ho’s.

War on Cops: Law-Enforcement Deaths by Gunfire Up by 150% This Year

by Lee Stranahan2 Apr 2016

The number of police officers killed by gunfire in the line of duty this year is up 150% according to the Officer Down Memorial Page, a website dedicated to chronicling the deaths of law-enforcement officers.

March was the deadliest month for police deaths so far in 2016, with a total of 16 law-enforcement officers killed. Five of those March deaths were due to gunfire.

Although the overall death total is down 3% from 2015 and the same period this year, the jump in gunfire related deaths is alarming, especially given the constant barrage of anti-police rhetoric by leftist protest groups, including Black Lives Matter.

Some of the deaths appear to be directly traced to animosity towards police. For example, the recent murder of Virginia state police trooper Chad Dermer at a Greyhound bus station in Richmond on March 31 was committed by a man, James Brown III, whose ex-girlfriend told the Associated Press“frequently expressed his hatred towards the police.”

As Breitbart News reported, the Black Lives Matter movement in Minneapolis recently carried out protest action in March that ended up in front of a local police station, where protesters burned the American flag. That protest came after the state of Minnesota announced it would not be seeking criminal charges against two police officers who were involved in the death of convicted criminal Jamar Clark.
