Trump just got BAD news, could COST him nomination(Allen West's blog)

While Donald Trump continues to lead in delegate count, this week has not been his in terms of momentum. The GOP frontrunner was handed a resounding defeat in Wisconsin, where rival Ted Cruz beat him 48.2% to 35.1%. Now all eyes have turned to New York, the next primary in the nominating contest, with 95 delegates at stake — where Trump currently enjoys a commanding 56% to 22% lead over Cruz in the latest poll.

But even before the New York primary in a couple weeks, Trump may be precluded from reaching the required 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention, given what’s rather quietly happening in Colorado as we speak. As The Washington Post wrote of the Colorado delegates:

But if the Republican presidential race between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz is decided by just a handful of delegates, what happens in Colorado this weekend might matter most of all.

Nate Silver goes so far as to suggest that if Trump gets shut out in Colorado this weekend, he will definitely fall short of the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. And that, of course, would leave him vulnerable to the workings of the GOP convention, which many — including Trump supporters — fear could quash his chances of walking away as the nominee.

Many observers — and the Trump campaign itself — don’t expect Trump to do well in Colorado.

Based on what happened in the first two district contests, it is expected that Ted Cruz will sweep the 34 Colorado delegates being selected at the district and state assemblies. The remaining three delegates are the members of the Republican National Committee from Colorado and can remain unbound.

As of Friday afternoon, Cruz has dominated the first five contests in Colorado, while Trump and Kasich remain empty-handed. While neither candidate will make the trip to Colorado this weekend, both Trump and Kasich are putting more focus on the state convention’s weekend proceedings, in an attempt to nab some delegates before it’s over.

While this contest is likely to garner a small fraction of the coverage the upcoming New York primary will get, it’s on its way to quietly tipping the scales further toward a contested convention.

Cruz has no qualifications for President. His only claim was being an insurgent, an outsider. Now that’s been blown up so he’s running on what. He has no executive experience, no business experience, no life experience to speak of. Every governor in the race is better qualified than Cruz and Trump is infinitely more prepared seeing as how he’s actually run a huge mega-successful business for years.

He built something, made payrolls, ran an international company. What has Cruz done?

Trump controls the fate of every republican up for election in Nov.

If he is treated unfairly [He is being] and is denied the nomination because of GOPee machinations he can continue to hold rallies after the convention and exhort his supporters to vote Trump as a write-in and then vote for every democrat running in every other race.

This is something I would never have supported before seeing the GOPee actively working against their party’s front-runner. Trump is the obvious choice of the voters. The GOP establishment would rather lose in Nov than see the mess that they profit from cleaned up.

If Trump is not the next president then this republic is doomed...doomed because the republic will be flooded with many millions of illegal alien voters who will forever vote for more socialism. I now say it is better to lance the boil quickly and get it over with so the rebuilding can come all the sooner.

Lancing the boil will mean working for the total destruction of the GOP. The party has deserted us... I can see no good reason it should survive. We must support true conservatives and no longer trust the GOP to be true conservatives. Cruz is a globalist who will continue to work with the GOPee after he either loses the nomination fight to a GOPee chosen RINO or after he loses horribly as the nominee in Nov.

It is my hope that a Trump threat to the GOPee to exhort his followers to seek the removal of all republican candidates by voting for their opposition will be enough to cause them to back off from the madness they are engaging in. Threatening a 3rd party run will not scare them, they welcome that as it would throw the race to the house where the RINO would be chosen.

I am flabbergasted that the Grand Old Party has become a force for evil...a party actively seeking to destroy this republic. If we cannot take back control of the party then it must be destroyed. What a shame that a few good men will be taken out along with the trash. :-(

I don’t know what the rules are exactly, but if the rules are not recent changes than everybody has been on the same plain for previous elections and won or lost by the same rules.

Kenny: Based on comments from two posters on this thread, I have learned that the GOPe thinks that this is all a game.

Trump does not have to exhort me (or family and friends). We cannot write in here, we’ve already talked about this.

We will do everything in our power to destroy the republican party, all the way down ticket.

Color us angry and really disgusted at how this has been going. Never have we seen so much thrown at the front runner to prevent him from succeeding. If he does not get the nomination and the full support of the party, pay back will not be pretty.

I keep on getting these ridiculous pings like yours that unless Trump wins he nomination, that Trump and the Trumpees will throw the race to Hillary.

My response is again is : Trump loses so elect Hillary?? That was the whole plan all along. Birds of a feather.

And based on your comments. You don’t like that Trump isn’t special and that the rules apply to him also.

Sounds like Cruz is still a typical politician/lawyer using smokey back room tactics just another GOPee lackey. And his followers are delighted.

This is not a game. Cruz cannot win in November. Trump is our last chance.

I know. Trump should get his lawyers on this. There’s gotta be someone they can sue.

Tonight I talked with one of the delegates from Colorado. Most delegates said Trump didn’t care enough to come, so he shouldn’t complain.

If he wanted to win, he would not lose the entire east coast of the United States but Maine. Cruz is a loser. He isn’t even to the half way point of delegates yet. Trump will have 1100 in 3 weeks.

"So the rules are...you win a state but the losers can come and take all of the delegates? So can Trump take all of Utah and Texas delegates now?"

No outsider would be able to do this. You need party backing to do this. Cruz has plenty. They changed the rules when Ron Paul was running to make it difficult for outsiders. But if you're a party person, a card carrying member of the Uniparty, well, doors magically open for you and you can steal anything you want. It is "their" party after all. Now it's obvious to everyone they don't even have to pretend to care about the voters in presidential elections anymore.

See how much I care about "their" party in local elections from now on.

"I think it shows that Cruz is more prepared to run for president. He seems more prepared."

Well, he should be, like Hillary he's thought and prepared to feed that ambition for his entire adult life. If you are looking for someone whose every waking thought his entire life has been politics and whose entire life has been preparing himself politically for his run, then he's your guy. If you question the ability and desire of the American political structure to preserve and protect the nation to the benefit of all the people, you are likely to look elsewhere.
