Hello Everyone;
Once again I have to apologize for not posting when I should. But life just gets in the way of me doing things like this.
I do have a couple of different topics for discussion, [and please comment on BOTH of them]
1] How in shape are you? I ask this because I have been tilling in a brand new garden [about 1 1/2 acres] in an area that has never had a garden before. And am I feeling it too. [I have an older tiller ( I was lucky to get it for $20.00 at a yard sale)] and now I tilling in my furrows with a walk way between the furrows. And I am feeling it in my mussels too. Now I thought I was in half way decent shape to this, but was I ever WRONG. I hurt in places that I have long forgotten existed. So my question/statement to you is; what are you doing to either get into or stay in shape? We know that hunting can take it's toll too. Now I am NOT talking about looking like a world class bodybuilder, but work in the garden, hunt or fish with lots of activity with out getting winded or hurting. Now I am no longer the young "stud" that I once was. And I have to admit that I am getting older [I'm 53 now] and no longer able to run for miles without end, or lift hundreds of pounds with out fail....And now to admit that I am not that way any more is like admitting that, when I first got hurt & no longer able to be a Marine [Crash,Fire, Rescueman] any more. [And that does hurt me AGAIN too] So now I have to look at getting back into so what of a shape slowly so I can keep up my prepping.
2] We all know that the weather will affect us in various ways [from being too durned cold, too durned hot, rain, sunshine,ect...] so how many of us have a weather prediction stations at your home & or bug out location, to keep track of what is coming up.
I,myself like the "old" fashioned analog styles [no digital equipment for me]. So what are you doing to predict it....
And this is for the ping list [that I can not work, but for those who can]
A Preeper thread?
All. Righty. Then.
I went from a trackball to a mouse to build up my wrist.
I myself have had my Bieber on the “Justin” setting for weeks.
I have a lot of work to do in this area.
I like where this thread is headed.
Three times a week I do weight work and 3-5 times a week I do treadmill work. I’m trying to spend 45 to 90 minutes at least 3 of those times. Having a BOB is of no use if driving isn’t an option and I can’t carry it a long distance.
ping! :)
Hey guys, I spell kat with a “K” spelling was never my long suit. You all get the gist of what I am trying to say......
I wake and take inventory of what doesn’t Hurt !
Round is a shape?
LOL! I was going to say that the computer - working on it and playing on it - has contributed greatly to the decline in my physical fitness.
These things look like great all-around exercise; my husband and I are thinking of getting them:

I am constantly coughing up oysters and my mind is getting a little spongy.
I’ll take a wild guess here; your first name is Tom and therefore you’re a Preeping Tom. :)
Well, you could be a Preeping Tim or Dick, I suppose, but it just does not convey the same image...
Oh, and Kat (My girlfriend Catharine) says g’day as well.
C’Uti out here! *smile*
Truth is, if I felt any better I’d be at home in bed with a nurse.
“Am I my brother’s preeper?”
Yes, I know this is not what you usually think of when prepping but it is very important.
Get any dental work done and make sure you have a stock of brushes high quality toothpaste and medicinal mouthwash. Fresh breath is nice. Not having your teeth fall out, even nicer.
And for those of us who sit at a computer a standing desk is a good idea if possible or a balance ball for sitting.
It is not doing crunches or bench pressing 300 but it does build up muscle and stamina.
Jeepers creepers! You’re a FReeper preeper?
I went from 12oz to full pints. I switch hands too.
