The likeliness of this brat killing Trump was probably nil. But if he had gotten ahold of that gun he could have killed the cop or killed someone at the rally. Also, the media has made up all sorts of stories about this would-be murderer.

Trump cannot rely solely on the Secret Service which is spread very thin. Some of those agents are primarily paper pushers or investigators not warriors in any sense of the word.

This was the dumbest and most pitiful assassination attempt ever. Just stupid.
Didn’t have a gun and couldn’t get one (the system works), so he has to try to take one from a cop. So dumb. Went to the range the day before and fired 20 rounds to ‘learn how to shoot’... Yeah, right. Now he’s an expert marksman.
You add it all up and it’s just... sad. Doesn’t exactly inspire hair raising.
Had he gotten the gun, he would’ve hurt somebody (if he could fire it), but not Trump. Trump wears body armor, so it would actually take a head shot to seriously threaten him. There was no way that this yokel was going to pull that off.
I think that it’s not a big deal because there was never a real threat.
