I can vouch for this in this sense:
I first got activated charcoal when my dog ate a bunch of chocolate years ago.
I then got food poisoning from SEAFOOD. One of the worst kinds of food poisoning that can leave you sick for days.
I took the tablets about two hours after symptoms started appearing..I did suffer for a little while because I didn’t take it right away but I was better the next morning. The person I went to the restaurant with was sick for 3 days.
Since then..I have used it when I first notice something wrong. It can happen after you eat salad, too. If I start to feel the stomach rumble or I start having diarrhea..I get out the caps.
One episode recently, I only had one capsule. I think I got the food poisoning from oil that had garlic in it because it didn’t have the thing in it to keep it from going bad.(can’t remember what it is suppose to have)
I had to wait for that one tablet to kick in before I rushed to Walgreens to get another bottle!
And yes, you have to be careful if you are on medication. It will absorb it.
I call activated charcoal my miracle cure. I Tell everyone to have it. If you take it right away ..you will notice the positive reaction fairly quickly.
Also used it topically on spider bites. Alternative is Prid for that.
I love Prid. Carry it everywhere. It is good for so much.
Interesting, my kids were given charcoal in the ER...They were very young (under 3) and had gotten into suitcases that had mothballs in the pockets...Since we really could not determine if they had ingested the mothballs, they got “ipecac-ed” and given charcoal for cleansing and absorbing any remaining mothball chemicals.
