ATT was in my neighborhood today promoting U-verse.
I haven't had any experience with it and have been on Time Warner for a long time. Is Uverse any better than Time Warner?
Time Warner over the past year has been a disappointment in a lot of areas.
I'm more interested in data and internet than TV and plan to keep the POTS line.
ATT offers a dedicated 24 meg line. TWC is 20ish and a lot of times I don't think it's that much. It's probably shared through the area. I've run speed tests and got anywhere from 15-19.
I have U-verse and love it. No problems in the 5 years I’ve had it.
The problem with Uverse is the pipe. It’s DSL over twisted pair. Phone lines.
Cable is well, cable. Think water main versuses in-house piping. Big difference. If ma bell ran fiber to the home it would be a different equation.
We loved Comcast in Atlanta. Tried Uverse when we moved to SoCal last year, because Comcast is not here.
After 2 weeks we switched to Time Warner because Uverse was such a disappointment. Time Warner was better, and pretty close to Comcast/Xfinity.
In Kansas I have Time Warner Cable tv and it is fair. Very expensive. I had ATT POTS/ DSL and they discontinued that service and we switched to ATT Uverse for Tel and Internet. I get 300 MPS and the service is about 89.00 per month. Thinking about adding their TV and discontinuing of TWC.
