Yes. That name gives the media the chance to ignore it completely. The rag might have been right on John Edwards, but they’ve also lost libel suits to folks like Carol Burnett and have been a punchline for decades.
Unless a video or some live witnesses come forth, this is going nowhere. Disappointing.

Enquirer is just trashy enough to take on stories the other outlets won’t touch, just credible enough that frickin’ hundreds of millions are going to hear about it. Moreover they say they have “the fixer’s dossier of smoking gun proof, including 24-years of documents, notes, and journals.”
The Carol Burnett story was in 1976. Settled in 1981.

It wasn’t only John Edwards. The NE was right more than any MSM during the Lewinsky era. Always had the lead on stories and were always right.
And he can remind people that Enquirer did not defame Edwards.
Otherwise, I agree. If Enquirer is the only rag that picks this up, the size of the hit to Crooked's polls is trivial, inconsequential.
