A helluva lot more people read the NE or at least see the headlines and cover, than read the NYT. And at this point the news in the NE is a lot more credible.
If, before Bill Clinton took office, someone told you that
a) there would be a story that the President put a cigar up the vagina of an intern -- a girl young enough to be his daughter -- IN THE OVAL OFFICE
would you have called it "preposterous tabloid trash" ?
IF, someone told you, IT WAS TRUE
would you have believed them?
b) If someone told you the President would go on NATIONAL TV and deny the affair with her BY NAME, and be proved to be lying
would you have believed them?
c) If someone told you the proof would be a positive DNA match of the President's semen on the intern's dress would you believe them?
d) If someone told you the President would survive this politically, would you believe them?
e) If someone told you the President would survive this politically, and his WIFE would then run for President as his *successor*, not *victim*...
would you have believed that?
