IMAP: Four letters that spell potential doom for Hillary and Huma
Doug Ross @ Journal ^ | November 1, 2016 | Doug Ross

I'll bet you're growing tired of the ongoing cancer that is the Hillary Clinton campaign of corruption, cover-ups and criminality.

Fear not. I've got something you may not have heard before. I hadn't heard of it until an hour or so ago. It's a technical acronym, related to Internet email, that most lay people wouldn't quite grok.

The inimitable Karl Denninger offers us the single, critical tidbit of data that makes all the difference. It relates to a statement that tech billionaire Mark Cuban made on CNBC:

This "newly discovered" laptop is very likely to be literal nuclear waste for Hillary and everyone around her, including the Clinton Foundation and all of Hillary's "advisers" such as Podesta.

Mark Cuban said that Huma used Outlook and IMAP (for Yahoo and similar). True.

But then he said this was unlikely to lead to "new" evidence in the form of the emails.

That's a lie.

It's a lie because Cuban knows he's full of crap; he knows enough about the technologies involved to be fully aware that he was peddling nonsense....

After eliminating dups they will match to what they already have. That can all done programmatically. Then they have to start searching by keywords. Then the readers read the hits. The readers have to have clearances.

If Huma set that account up in outlook on day years ago to print messages at home(which she did), she may have been too lazy to remove the account. She may have used Thunderbird or some other email client. Hell Weinerman may have set ber account to forward emails without deleting them. That’s simple enough.

IMAP synchronizes emails across multiple devices. This includes that when they are deleted from one they are deleted from all.

Ironically, and fortuitously, the Weiner investigation brought his computer offline. Hence, when emails were deleted from other devices they were not deleted from his offline laptop. This theory is dependent upon his computer being apprehended before when emails deleted.

Neither IMAP nor POP makes any difference, the whole thing depends on how the client is configured. Plenty of people using POP servers have all of their emails in both places as well -- IMAP does a better job maintaining continuity across multiple devices and is increasingly recommended, but it's a moot point.

The FBI/DOJ has always had access to all of the emails, and was simply not interested in doing a serious investigation. Had they been, a Grand Jury would have been impaneled to investigate this issue 14 or 15 months ago. The fact that DOJ never permitted a GJ was the Big Tell, but there are so many procedural irregularities in the original "investigation" that it's pointless to claim that a particular mail protocol is now a game changer.

What changed here is that agencies outside of the Clinton Cartel have seen the emails, forcing the FBI to at least pretend to take a second look. My guess is they will try to destroy all of these records as well.

BTW, I’ve heard that Cuban has flown on the Jeffrey Epstein’s Lolita Express.

The fact that it was in a “Life Insurance/Corruption” folder shows that either Huma, Weiner, or both of them purposely kept the most damaging emails as protection from the Clinton Mob. The fact that Huma has not been seen at Hillary’s side for the last three days means Hillary thinks she did it on purpose.

If her most trusted aide has betrayed her, just think how bat-sh!t crazy that paranoid b!tch must get whenever anybody tries to discuss something sensitive with her. It has to be completely paralyzing her campaign.

[...if there are indeed no new emails to see, then why would the FBI be pulling overlapping, round-the-clock 16-hour shifts to evaluate them?”

Because the NYPD and NY FBI Field/US Attorney’s offices have seen the emails and related evidence, and they don’t give rat’s-ass one about the politics of Comey, Obama, Clinton, Weiner or Abedin.

They have seen the vile crimes, and they have retained the proof. So the FBI can either save face, and their asses, by doing the job we Goddamn pay them to do, or get the hell out of the way.

It’s coming out either way and the guilty are going down. Capiche?

Here's the problem for Hillary -- when the server had emails deleted and then was "Bleached" it had already been taken offline and was never returned to service. As such the laptop client would have been unable to connect back to it and thus it would never be told to remove anything.

Without that machine (Weiner's laptop) being under remote administration such as Domain Policy control (which we can reasonably assume it was not as Huma claims "she didn't know about it" and it was allegedly a private laptop) there is no remote capability to wipe or otherwise get into said computer and remove the emails either.

Can you say that one more time ... in words for non-tech types? Thanks.

I take Karl’s point to be:

If the Clintonemail server had continued to be online at the time the 33,000 emails were deleted and thereafter, then the next time a mobile device (for example, Weiner’s laptop) that was checking in from time to time with the Clintonemail server to get emails, actually checked in to get emails, the server would have instructed the mobile device to make a matching deletion of any the deleted emails that had been previously downloaded on the mobile device.

But since the Clintonemail server had been taken offline, any such mobile devices never received an instruction from the server to make a matching deletion. So all emails that had been downloaded would have continued to be on the mobile device.

I suspect this may be the source of the Wikileaks emails.

It actually gets a little more complicated than that. I havn’t messed with OST files lately, but if the laptop was saving the email locally to a PST file, then even if the instruction is sent to delete the file, it remains in the PST file even though you can’t see it at all from within Outlook. Ever wonder why your PST file can still be gigabytes in size even though you cleared all the email out and even emptied your deleted items folder? That’s because the database file still holds the space of those deleted messages as taken and does not fully erase the info. It’s a form of audit trail for email. In many/most business situations you can’t and shouldn’t delete email for at least 7 years for legal reasons.

So you can, with the right tools, recover anything from a PST file. Even if it has been “completely” deleted as far as the user can see.

Today’s lesson? Delete those old PST files and overwrite the free drive space.

Possible, but I doubt it.

They are slow-walking the Podesta emails, and the Huma-Hillary-Obama emails have stuff that has to be a lot juicier.

The public is already bored with the Podesta stuff, but emails direct from Hillary would keep us up all night.

Barney Rubble pipes up: "Gee, Fred..."

The problem here is twofold.

One, the NYPD had Anthony Weiner's laptop for the sexting of underaged girls. And if there's anything a cop doesn't like, it's kitty pr0n or similar. So they'd have had their best forensic guys going after it. And you KNOW when they saw what was on it, they made copies.

Two, speaking of copies. If Anthony Weiner was sexing teenage girls, he was surfing pr0n. If he was surfing pr0n, his computer was infected. If his computer was infected, lotsa shady people got those emails.

In other words, it's gone from "Got any naked pictures of the Secretary of State's closest advisor? Wanna buy some?" to "Hey, China, Russia, North Korea, ...got any Top Secret and abover info from the Secretary of State? Wanna buy some? (and if you act now, some prime blackmail material for the likely next President?"

Gawd these people are fornicatingly stupid.

Then they would be in a folder called “Retirement Fund” or “New World Order” or “Allahu Akbar” not “Life Insurance/Corruption.”
