In an egregious violation of Department of Defense policy, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel has recorded an ad critical of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while appearing to wear a flight suit complete with unit patches and rank insignia. Wendy Rogers is a three-time Republican Congressional candidate in Arizona, and she most recently lost the GOP primary in the state’s 1st Congressional District in August. Rogers is also a retired Air Force pilot who was one of the first female pilots in the service.
“As a pilot in the United States Air Force, I was entrusted with classified information. We were always taught that you don’t send or receive classified information through unsecured channels,” Rogers says before going on to criticize Hillary Clinton for using a private, unsecured e-mail server to send and receive classified information.
Rogers was also taught that you can’t mix your uniform and politics

But, that's not to say that it's impossible for some brass to decide the retiree brought discredit to the service (particularly while wearing the uniform) and made statements which indicated the service (or at least a ranking officer) endorsed a candidate and decides an example should be made.
And, in this climate......I think personal opinion should be personal opinion. If she's the first woman to whatever - great. There still isn't a reason to don the uniform and then go make those statements.
It's hard to see that b/c we may agree with her RE Hellary. I imagine the tune would be different here if it was against Trump, or another conservative.
Between now and the 11th we’ll have thousand upon thousands of vets, many retirees, making political statements at vet celebrations across this country. Not ONE will be prosecuted, and not one has been ever.
Yes, I am aware of the 8 year basic service obligation, but we are talking about recall of regular retired AD types, not basic service obligation.
