“Peers” are people, not things. People can be patriotic. Is your theory/belief that any person who takes a job with a bank or a multi-national corporation, is somehow stripped of any potential patriotism?

Many have their doubts about the patriotic commitment of globalist high finance bankers. They are a clannish lot out to serve mostly themselves. GS CEO Blankfein is a certifiable megalomaniac who thinks he is an earthly god.
The appeal of a job in the admin would be prestige and influence... not ‘serving America’.
The Heidi Cruz matter is one thing... but the more blatant double standard comes directly from Trump’s campaign:
in the last TV ad he specifically showed GS CEO Blankfein as a globalist villain.

Mnuchin has a ‘past’ at GS. For arguments sake... fine leave it that. But Cohn is GS current President! To hire him is blatant hypocrisy.
It it really is Trumps son in law Jared Kushner pulling in these Wall Street cronies and kingpins then I am very concerned about whether Trump (who I think to be overall a good man) is really calling the shots and not being taken advantage of and given bad advice by Kushner.

I have full faith and confidence that Trump will fire these guys in a hot second if they don't do exactly what he wants done. Look at the rapid fall of Christie or the 3 campaign managers Trump fired on the way to the white house. Trump expects results and no mater how personally he feels connected to someone he has no problem tossing them out on their asses when they don't do their jobs properly.
I imagine that there are lots of capable folks in the Midwest, Texas, etc. that run banks, work in state government, etc. that might bring a healthy perspective to the swamp. But - Trump doesn’t know them. So he draws from the people he does know.
Of course if he found them in his own companies (which I am sure they are as capable as these GS guys) he would be called out on cronyism.
You might be on to something.
As much as Trump resinates with regular folks all over America, he definitely is (he says so himself) part of the bubble of NY top executives and high finance. He strikes me as an unusually patriotic man among his surroundings... but this is his world and I think his familiarity with this bubble is both his strength and achilles heel...
