A high quality antenna with a variety of communication (wifi, ATV, ham radio) uses
This is way over my paygrade. I am sitting here in awe of this guy’s intelligence.

since this LP is designed for 400-1000 MHz it’s not going to work very well as-is for WiFi at 2400 MHz. Should be good for off-air DTV however.

Uh, don’t bother. Not much to see here (store bought PC board and cheapo SWR bridge). Trust me.
Log periodics are fairly easy to design. Started my career designing them at a company called Tecom. Got pretty good at it. Have one in the attic that covers 225-400 MHz to eavesdrop on military aircraft in the area. The mechanics of putting one together is the trick, they can get heavy for lower frequencies.
A PC is not needed, we just used pocket calculators. The software being used in the vid is $$$.
Very cool. A nice boost for your handheld.
Knew a guy who hand wound copper coils to break out a four channeled Russian mil system ...
They have an antenna for the WiFi frequencies, look at the company link on YOUTUBE.
How would you connect an antenna to your PC? There is no antenna jack.
HamRadio,,,
Giddyup!
He's more than an amateur radio operator. He's an RF engineer, and does it for a living. Same as me, but Kent's smarter ;-)
The guy who’s demonstrating the antenna is not the guy who designed it.
Yes, there is, it's just on the inside. Usually, it's a tiny U.FL jack (Google it).
He has the software design it, ham shack and lab in his home to build it and back yard and friends at various facilities to test it. So you can describe what you want and he can design, build and test it for you, one man design lab.
You can buy cheap wi-fi dongles for your USB port on your PC. Very cheap on the Internet. I got one for about $5. You can interface an antenna to the internal antenna on the dongle, so you don’t mess with your PC internals.
Thanks.
