No. Az gets some from above the Hoover, but the majority comes from just above the Parker Dam that creates Lake Havasu. Both AZ and CA draw from that point. One side going to CA, and the other to Phoenix and that area. Take a look at your atlas. The Cal border is just Below Laughlin NV and Bullhead City AZ. Actually, Colorado and AZ hold the most miles the River runs thru.

But, CA gets about 70% of the power from the Hoover Dam..if I remember right. So..they could shut down about 70% of the generation from the Hoover and finally start filling Lake Mead back up...which is about to happen if you know how low Mead is. Funny thing is..they are looking to curtail sending power to AZ in favor of California.

And you know what we in AZ say about that right? The word starts with an “F” and the last word is “You”.

Thanx. I took the tour and it was explained the way I said. Then we were shown where water was released in both directions. That’s all I know. I accept your explanation in the absence of further knowledge on my part.
