Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor says she doesn't expect a radical change in the current makeup of the Supreme Court over the next several years, even after the nomination of Neil Gorsuch by Donald Trump.

The “wise latina” is widely thought to be the most radical leftist on SCOTUS, even more radical that Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg (which says a lost about Sotomayor).

I think she is saying that based on discussions with the other liberal judges none of them are going to retire with Trump in office. God may have other plans.
Scalia dying when he did helped Trump get elected because it pushed some voters to vote for him. Otherwise they might have told themselves that no conservatives would retire in four years. God is in control.

And here I've been wondering if she didn't hang in there on purpose, after getting a good look at (the lack of depth for) Kagan and Sotomayer.
Then again, I also get the impression Ginsburg sees herself as highly significant & important. Must keep up the good fight. Like; Progress, comrades! Progressive b right! Conservatives b old sticks in the mud (and they are often men) who oppress people! (women and minorities hit hardest). Did I mention that it is men who are the biggest trouble-makers? Womans must fix it. Progress!

Taking the next election for granted is risky; taking the next three elections for granted is, forgive me, just plain stupid.You have to realize that a sitting VP only president-elect on rare occasions. John Adams kinda doesn’t really count since in the pre-12th Amendment era his election as VP was not based on being Washington’s running mate. Really the only two sitting presidents to see their VP elected POtUS were Andrew Jackson and Ronald Reagan.
Closest thing to a third term for a popular outgoing POTUS. Leaving aside the FDR four-peat . . .
