A man suspected of killing a Whittier police officer in a shootout Monday, hours after slaying his cousin, was released from prison under a controversial program that many law enforcement agencies blame for an uptick in crime, authorities said.
Michael Christopher Mejia, 26, of Los Angeles, was identified Tuesday by authorities as the suspect in the fatal shootings of Whittier police Officer Keith Boyer and 46-year-old Roy Torres, the suspect’s cousin.

O’Reilly talked about him tonight. Was released from California prison early due to overcrowding. A habitual criminal and gang member...but not an illegal.

It’s a trivial issue I’m replying on, but I doubt he’s MS-13.
MS-13 tats, especially the facial ones, are almost always “billboards” expressly mentioning the gang. So you’ll see 13 prominently featured, and/or “M S” or even spelled out, “Mara Salvatrucha.”
May he rot in hell, along, one hopes, with the political careers of Jerry Brown and Kamala Harris, thanks to whom Mejia was on the street recently to begin with.
