I submit this for lovers of fine music, and if you shed a tear or two, that might be a good thing.
I can't find out much about David Knox, the writer, except that he was a bandsman for a Scot military pipes band. I don't know if he's still alive. His composition is fairly recent.
Kelvingrove Park is a public park located on the River Kelvin in the West End of the city of Glasgow, Scotland, containing the famous Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
This rendition of Rose of Kelvingrove is recorded by the pipers and band of the Gordon Highlanders. The Gordon Highlanders was a line infantry regiment of the British Army that existed for 113 years, from 1881 until 1994 when it was amalgamated with the Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons) to form the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons)
Very fine music.
