Gunshot, not Lethal Injections, Is Most Humane
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/03/17 | Michael Fumento

Posted on 05/03/2017 8:46:40 AM PDT by Sean_Anthony

Capital punishment in the US needs to be debated on its own merits and may eventually go the way of Canada. Until then, a humane society needs to choose the most humane method of employing it

Lethal injection executions, back in the news, just aren’t working. For a variety of reasons. While they are bloodless (so is strangulation, starvation, and being broken on the wheel), it appears they often are not painless. They most certainly are not quick, sometimes taking hours. They arguably violate the Hippocratic Oath in having a doctor perform them, yet you hardly want an amateur to perform them. And drug companies don’t want their products associated with causing death. Go figure!

Between the eyes with a large caliber round at close range. They might see it coming but not for long so any suffering would be minimal.

The lawyers would argue that once used for a hanging, the rope is weakened to the point where it could fail in subsequent lynchings resulting in prolonged suffering. A boon for rope manufacturers, an added expense for governments.

Scientists could use the lawyers to test that hypothesis. Either way it would be a win-win for the U.S. ;-)

Snip the nerves in the back of the neck like in an abortion the left won’t have any problems with that.

They claimed starvation was downright euphoric when they were putting her to death.

I recall a TV documentary years ago that included the Russian method of execution. They had the condemned bow his head and stick it out of an opening in the cell door. Then a guard shot them in the back of the head with a pistol. Hit in the reptile brain, they died instantly and didn’t even twitch.

“They arguably violate the Hippocratic Oath in having a doctor perform them”

The Hippocratic oath is something they do at medical school. It isn’t a law.

IIRC, hangings were always carried out using brand new rope.

See Twilight Zone episode “Dust” for a dramatization.

Easiest method. Offer the inmates 1+ month unlimited drug use of their choice (no meth) with their approval that at some time after 1 month they will get an OD at random. Most inmates on life without parole would take that deal. Throw in some women prisoners for comfort and you might get some without life/death penalties. Call it assisted suicide and the liberals will be all for it.

If we want painless executions, we could use a meatslicer like you see in the delis. Just slowly push them onto the meatslicer.

It's totally painless.

Why is it so complicated? Take a bullet in the head and give them an opportunity to donate their organs. Why the complication just to make the witnesse fell better?

“Yeah, but they’re hyperventilating for O2”

I Understand, but procedural protocols would be in place. For example:

A pre-op sedative, some oxygen in a mask, switch the mix to nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to deepen the unconsciousness, then introduce the nitrogen. Monitor the vitals for prescribed time and note the time the murderer expires.

I think Oklahoma has already used nitrogen.

Firing squads might be quick. But the bio-hazard component of the procedure introduces unnecessary risks.

They should let veterinarians be in charge of “putting people to sleep” with lethal injections. No one ever says that isn’t humane.>>>>>>

They use different methods from one another. My dog got a mild sedative that barely worked, followed by a paralyzed, followed by whatever stops the heart. From the time of the last shot til he died was 4 minutes of he’ll watching the fear in his eyes and his inability to move or breath.

It was the most horrible execution of an INNOCENT creature I’ve witnessed at a vets office. And it cost over $100 for 6bx worth of drugs. Other places use an overdose of sleeping mess which is quick and easy.
