Thank you for posting that. They had a flirtation in my area with hydroponic tomatoes about 20 years ago.

Beautiful, uniform and shapely fruit that looked positively yummy.

But tasted about as much like a tomato as a glass of water.

The actual tomato season in Upstate NY is very short. For about 10 months, these hydroponic tomatoes are sooooo much better than the cardboard tomatoes of the past.

The taste is very good and I eat them every day....They're still getting the sun and nutrients....just like dirt grown tomatoes.

Grateful for these growers.

Tough job feeding the world!!
