Update on the 12 year old boy: He and his family just arrived here in town at the hangar. Praise God. They are headed to the hospital which might be a 30 minute (or more) drive depending on traffic. Thank you for your continued prayers for his health. If he needs surgery, there is a HUGE risk of infection here in our hospitals. God is able.
The embolding is mine.
New update.....made it to “town”.

I went for a year with appendicitis, treated with antibiotics. Hoping this is what they are doing. Praying.

May The Lord Bless and Keep You all Healthy.
Fervent prayers up. Praying for able doctors and excellent antibiotics.
Well aware of infection risk there, knew someone who fought there in WW2, a fighter pilot, he received minor medical attention, contracted infection which caused him to loose all of his teeth a few years later. Could have been worse.
Such a remote place; so brave of you and other to do God’s work there.
When I woke up (currently the time is 0543 here on Friday) and learned this was last night’s situation.
Update: Today is a national holiday [I am not sure what exactly the holiday is] so the doctor we were hoping to see is not here. There is only an emergency room doc and possibly a surgeon. They are trying to contact the doc we wanted to see. Reece is about the same. Generally miserable but not getting any worse at this point. He’s hanging in there and being quite a trooper. All the beds in the hospital were also full but one just opened up in a class 3 room (7 patients to a room). We are booked to go in there if we must spend the night but are considering the option of just keeping Reece at the western clinic in Sentani to watch him overnight if he is not getting progressively worse. Pray for wisdom. Currently awaiting lab results on blood draw and will go from there.”
I do not know where Reece spent the night. We’ll probably learn this is in a few hours.
This AM’s update:
Keep praying for Reece, friends! Update from his dad: 7am: Reece made it through the night ok. The nurses woke him up about every 1-2 hrs to poke him with something or change his IV bag or take vitals. They did start him on an IV med, either Ceftriaxone or Metronidazole. Had one brief period where he was writhing around with some pretty intense pain. He did manage to get some sleep though for which we are praising God. Lex and I got some sleep here and there through the night. Waiting for a doctor to show and tell us where we go from here. Pray if it is concluded that he needs surgery that it will be done today. He’s pretty miserable and another 24+ hrs of waiting wouldnt be easy.
#1 Update.....#2 will follow....

I will continue to pray for this young man, in Jesus Holy Name.
Prayers continue for this little boy to get the care he needs as soon as humanly possible at this point.
You think OUR healthcare is horrible. You should have to go what this poor child with acute appendicitis has had to endure for the past 2-3 days!
Prayers for the young man with appendicitis. I experienced a ruptured appendix. It’s not fun!
Praying for your friend in Papua. For the weather to clear and for a successful surgery and full recovery.
Dear Lord
Have Mercy on your young servant O Lord and grant comfort to all those desperately concerned for his health and well being. Guide the hands of his surgeon that this young man will be returned to perfect health.
Amen
THIS JUST IN.....a time is set for surgery!!
This just in: Update on 12 year old boy for those who are praying: he will have surgery today around 3pm (it is about 11 am now). Thank you for your continued prayers for him and his family. Praise God for His protection over them thus far.
***edited to add: apparently his appendix has already ruptured. Surgery still scheduled for 3. I get all this info secondhand {actually, I am further done the list - however, the surgery is scheduled for 3PM our time, in 3 hours from now. That is 0200 Friday morning EASTERN time. We are ahead of the US in the timeline.} and don’t understand what is going on now. Please pray for protection and wisdom for all involved.
