Beloved Friends, especially those outside of Papua: here is an urgent, current prayer request: Please pray for our co-workers in Papua. Their 12 year-old son is sick with what appears to be appendicitis, and they've had to wait all night for a plane to be able to come get them from the village as planes here cannot fly at night. The mom is in the village with her four kids, while the dad is currently in town. This morning, the weather is terrible and so far the plane has been unable to land to pick them up. There is a doctor ready to do an appendectomy here in town, but they need to get the patient here first! Please pray that the weather would clear or that an alternative option would pop up. The plan now is for him to be picked up and moved by helicopter, which will take several more hours. Please pray with us for this family!
Thank you.
I have tried to send this out via email to my prayer partners. I copied and pasted the text here.

This just in (and copied): Update on the child from a colleague: They are out! The heli got in and was able to land. Keep praying, they couldn’t land in any close by villages, the weather is bad everywhere. So they have to go all the way up to the closest town (Wamena, 1 hr 20 min away) THEN the plane will come get them from there to take them to the town where Reece can see the doctor to see if he needs surgery. Days like today really remind me how remote our lives are here out in the jungle, and that we trust alone in the One who controls all things. We are so grateful for the amazing pilots who serve us and go out of their way to help us. Thanks for all the prayers. I will continue to keep you posted as I hear more.
The saga is moving, but not over yet.
In my prayers...
High dose antibiotics often work...they must be injected of course.
It would not surprise me if that were part of the plan. But, it is doubtful they had any in the village, and maybe not even in Wamena. The area is still a very remote, primative place.
Praying with you.
BUMP
Praying for all of them.
Prayer request update..........he is started on his journey out.
