How did we get here at this existential crossroads? Ask the communist agitators, school indoctrinators, Hollywood, and community organizers whom parents entrust their children to every day
How did our society get where we are today? Where did this profound hatred, disrespect for authority, for the rule of law, disdain for their own country, utter laziness, entitlement, anarchy, and anti-Americanism come from, especially in the younger generations who shape the future of our country?
There is no simplistic answer. The default answer is always horrible parenting or lack thereof. Parents spend less and less time with their progeny as the government takes over their education at a very early age, or are in need of behavioral reeducation themselves. Older fathers with pony tails and mothers going through menopause are raising terror children who have never been spanked or made to behave like normal, rational human beings. They scream in restaurants and public places at hours when they should be in bed while the parents try to talk to them in a calm voice to the exasperation of everyone around them, trying to enjoy themselves while celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, interrupted by howling brats.
But like cleaning a messy house, it is so difficult to focus on just on one aspect, when it all needs cleaning
The answer is simple. While the progressive marxists have been attacking America since Teddy Roosevelt’s day, and the attack is indeed multifaceted, two key items were needed to effect all the others. The progressive income tax to fund their activities and the effective takeover of the federal courts needed to protect the sedition and subversion. At least IMHO.

It was advanced slowly day by day, most visible in the post wwll period. TV played a MASSIVE role. The classroom, movies, popular music. It first wrapped itself in Love for the law and the Black man and other racial munorities, the children etc, developing it’s authority in the cultural mind until...well today a sexual deviant so consumed with what he does with his crotch that he defines himself by the acts is held up as good. They meant to destroy our AMERICAN Culture and they have done so as we “tolorantly” stood by. Took our law down too. Today the POTUS will stand aside as HIS power and responsibility are blatently, criminally usurped.
In Canada it all starts with the School Board Trustees (usually lawyers to boot)
They are bred and cultivated in the city schoolboards and graduated to City Politics. From there Provincial and Federal politics.
We keep worrying about the Federal Level when it really has to be addressed at the Education Level.
Just as the left tore the structure of our society apart, we need to tear their structure apart and reassemble the pieces inn a more amenable form.
We are at the beginning stages of CWII. There are two different viewpoints about the State of our Nation and the DMZ between then is shrinking.
Just look at the modern day Liberals and imagine them regaining power. Their acts of revenge will make the Presidents of Turkey and Venezuela look like rank Amateurs.
The Civil Society is no more and the pushback will not go well for those who continue to act out their aggression against People they may disagree with.

Indeed. America’s schools are almost completely co-opted by the communists. The federal courts were the point men on this.
We are fighting Stage 4 liberalism.

If not, do so.. In this volume the Cause, the camps, and the consequences are laid out, and they are simple:
(1) Radical individualism = anyone can be anything he/she/it chooses to be, is the theme
(2) Radical egalitarianism = Being whatever you want to be, you also have the "right" to have equal support from society to be equal to anything else that exists, no matter what the cost.
At the end of the scheme(s) the result is total depravity encouraged and morality condemned, for how does one determine what is moral and what is not?
Your example above embodies both aspects, but it is only one application. Think of Chaplains of Mohammedanism and Satanism being commissioned in the Armed Forces, as well as "Christian" (varied kinds) and Jewish religious/moral counselors, all together in one big basket. There is going to be no end to battlefield ethics wrapped up in this, using troops convinced of validity of the diversity of each one's preferences of the kind you just described.
