I am glad President Trump is finally slumming it at Camp David.
Probably needed time to sweep the living quarters at Camp D for surveillence from the opposition. Must involve some major demolition to find it all. Hope they have most of it under control in the former white hut.
NeverTrumpers complaining and demanding impeachment in 1,2,3.......
Obama rarely went to Camp David. Just wasn’t that CityBoy’s thing. GWB did use it frequently. In fact, one of the sweetest things about the Bushes ... they would spend Christmas at the White House and Camp David so their SS detail could spend the holiday with their families before heading to Crawford.
good get away from the loony birds in DC for a minute.
He’s surrounded in DC.
Barron’s going to love it!
Time for some skeet shooting and putting practice.
“Camp David is very rustic, it’s nice, you’d like it,” Trump said in an interview with a European journalist just before taking office. “You know how long you’d like it? For about 30 minutes.”

That statement reminded me of this cartoon.
I think that Camp David should be the official presidential residence. It is easier to secure, it would be provide a more normal place for presidents with kids where kids could ride a bike or play outside without being within range of photographers or snipers. If I were president I’d just live there.
Use the White House for official state functions, balls and events.
LOL
my thoughts exactly - slumming it :)
Hope all the natural unfiltered air and open space, complete with bugs and such don’t freak out the New Yorkers. Living in an artificial ant hill and adjusting to open space may be alarming.
They live 1/4 of the time in Florida. I’ve lived in Florida several times during my childhood. If Florida has anything, it has bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.
Exactly—probably not mom and dad’s speed, but perfect for an 11=year=old boy. And maybe Melania will like it. Who knows, Trump himself could be surprised.
just the fact that they can get out and wander without people / photographers/ prying eyes might be a nice change. of course there are things for a youngster to do which aren’t an option at the WH. re bugs, uh, there are plenty of the roach kind in NYC.
I wondered when Trump was first elected why they didn't turn the WH into a museum. Having official state functions there would be nice, too. My thinking was that the WH was probably seriously bugged by Obama before he left.
In the current toxic environment that makes even more sense. The assassination attempt of DC Republicans at a well-chosen target-rich environment makes it clear how much danger President Trump and his close associates are in. No one can be trusted (and I'll be off-the-rails conspiracy theory here), not even DC 'pubs who weren't at that practice. It's "God's on our side" luck that Scalise was there which brought some security.
No one but family should be allowed at Camp David. Barron can have the ultimate playground, be free, and spend some time out of the public eye. Melania and her parents are from a simple environment. They'll be, I'd think, very good at making this work.
Fringe benefit....I'd think it will help Trump resorts get back to normal business without the disruptions of Trump visits.
I wish we had a direct conduit to President Trump. My message would be this is the best way to keep him and his family safe, let Barron grow up under less pressure, and thwart many aspects of the coup.
I bet Barron will love it!
