The comments after the article are probably not what you're expecting.

They all probably voted for her. But I doubt many have given to her foundation. She might get a different reception from those folks.

I hope she has a long and happy future of not ever being president of the United States and getting applause at theater shows.

But you’re right. Wouldn’t surprise me if that entire ovation were as staged as the rest of the show.

Its not everyday that people chant your name...Well, not for Hillary it isn't. She never could draw a crowd when she was on the campaign trail like the Donald could and still can.

I much rather she sees the inside of a jail cell.

Oslo? Wasn’t that where the Middle East was relatively peaceful from those accords but the Slickster wanted peace with a deadline in order to outshine former President Carter and ended up causing more violence?

Pence didn’t expect a standing ovation, just a quite night with his family.
Hillary expected it and she felt entitled to it and probably manipulated it.

Only way Hillary is going to get a standing ovation, surely not for her political accomplishments.

5th standing Ovation? Where are people chanting ‘lock her up’ when you need them?

Where were these people when Hillary needed their votes?

They finally ignited her victory fireworks over the Hudson last night. Good for her.

Hillary Clinton received a reaction that Mike Pence was likely hoping for when he ventured out to see Hamilton shortly after the 2016 election. Instead of a lecture from the stage and boos from those in attendance, Clinton was given a standing ovation by the crowd that made it seem more like a political rally than a theater performance . . . her fifth ovation in New Yorks iconic theater district. When I go to the theater, I go for an evening of entertainment, not to be applauded and not to make a political statement. I should use the past tense though - I no longer go because that form of entertainment is completely politicized as the reactions to Hillary and to Pence demonstrate. I suspect Pence went for the same reason I used to, but he won't make that mistake again, and I hope the conservative half of the country will also boycott Broadway.

As I wrote elsewhere, Comedian Bill Burr just did three sold-out shows in Rye, NY, outside of NYC. He told several jokes about Hillary and mocked her fans..."oh right, isn't this Hillary territory?" Most of the crowd laughed slightly harder at Hillary jokes vs Trump jokes (Burr didn't vote for either so he says).
His crown jewel Hillary joke was "I want to know, when Hillary starts yelling at Bill...if she starts in with 'why can't you pick up after yourself? Your pants have been on this chair for days..." I wanna know...does he go there? Does he look at her, and say 'you know, if you has some charisma...' "
That brought the house down.
So while the theater crowd may be sycophants, the normal people in NY seem to be pretty happy laughing at her.
