Is someone working on it? Is that why it's acting weird?
It only works if the number is set to 20 right now.
I am able to get it to work in security mode but I have to reload the page otherwise it just times out.
Threads are loading here, but the sidebars are gone. Weird.

Yep, click on an article with over 50 replys and only 16 or so load up.

Yes, very slow for several days now.
I had a lot of trouble yesterday adding comments. Very long delays on response time, many duplicate entries. BUT, this morning clicking on my “ping” link, gave me a response that said connection has been reset. So I restarted my router and the problem went away. I’m assuming it was outside interference, had similar issues on my cell phone.
In this day and age of Trump did this and Trump did that, is it not possible and plausible for someone to be interfering with OUR network ?
I am not experiencing the slowdown of which this thread speaks, but I have in the past been part of a general cluster.
After my almost twenty years, I'm giving FR and The Robinson's all the room they need and my support.
I’ve lost the sidebar and it won’t load the page fully. (FWIW) :-)
Yesterday and last night, it was occasionally taking nearly two minutes to load a single page, then began working with a 1-5 second delay, which is usable.
I have said my piece without being nasty on here and backed it up with troubleshooting methods and observational data, but there is an element here who thinks that if you have any criticism of the performance of the Free Republic servers, then you are a whiner, or worse.
I don’t understand that mind set. I haven’t read the entire thread yet, but if they haven’t shown up, I am pretty sure they will.
When I change the Brevity feature from Text to Headers, it loads fine.

Everything is working fine for me. . .except the https someone was talking about and I didn’t realize it was on there. I was up super early this morning and I was having major troubles with Firefox or Foxfire (whatever it is) and before logging on to FR, I decided to start my morning again with IE. Considering the fact that we don’t know the true stripes of today’s so-called conservatives . . .I vote for keeping the anti-capitalism venue for this site for now! :)
I like this site, but it does seem strange that for donations in excess of 400,000 a year, you would think this would not be an issue.

FR works for me in HEADER MODE, but not TEXT MODE.
I had to change my preferences from 250 threads/posts to 20.
It's getting ridiculous. This is a bare-bones website, not much different from when I joined in 2001. It should run flawlessly and at lightening speed.
Slowest site I visit. Has been for months. Period. And I do professional research with the ‘net as a tool, so I know the tricks of speedy browsing.
I find usually if it doesn’t pop right away I have to stop loading and reload and then it pops right up. A few times it has not come around on the second try.
I thought it was my PC at fault- same problem.
That’s funny, for me only this thread won’t load fully. Could we be being net neutralized?
