And how many people tasked to go out and read the thermometer in 1900 carefully stood at eye level to the uncalibrated thermometers and took a measurement to the fraction of a degree?

Go and buy a professional level thermometer. You will find none are guaranteed accurate to more than 0.2 degrees, but the warmist can tell you the earth was 0.1 degrees warmer last year than the year before, hmm?
