The Boston Globe Claims the Solar Eclipse Is ‘Throwing Shade’ At Clinton Supporters

The Boston Globe has managed to politicize the literal sun and moon.

An article by reporter Matt Rocheleau published Tuesday asks if the upcoming solar eclipse is “throwing shade at Clinton supporters,” as he claims the “ideal viewing spots” for the upcoming eclipse happen to be in places that supported President Trump in the 2016 election:

There are about 240 counties roughly along the central path of the eclipse, a 70-mile-wide trail extending across the country where people will be able to see a total eclipse, meaning the sun will appear completely obscured by the moon.

And about 92 percent of those counties swung in Trump’s favor, while fewer than two dozen counties voted for his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Trump won many of those counties by a wide margin, securing an average of 71 percent of the vote in counties he won along the path. Clinton, by comparison, got only about 56 percent of the vote in counties she won along the eclipse path.

In their tweet on the topic, the Boston Globe included a handy map to support its assertion that the solar eclipse was somehow discriminating against Clinton voters:

Only a liberal rag like the Boston Glob could ruin one of God’s most sublime shows.

Combined PING! and DANG!

Well, isn’t that just too bad! Why ruin what little reputation you have to publicize something so inconsequential? If you guys had any sense you’d leave this alone.

It’s probably true.
How could anyone believe that God isn’t at least a little bit angry with them?

Trump’s fault. If only he rolled over and signed that climate deal in Paris.

Wait! I thought this was going to be a curse on Trump supporters?

Can't you people get it right?

It's true. I was going to have to camp out but scored a hotel room completely by surprise, and now when I'm sitting in a camp chair on the lawn, coffee in one hand and kewl eclipse glasses on my nose, I'm going to be thinking, "Thank you, President Trump! If only those Californians had voted for you they'd be enjoying this too!"

Well, now that the article explained the whole thing to me, that is.

Such lunacy, even if it is a solar, not lunar eclipse.

The logic of the article defies all logic. When one considers that the majority of the total eclipses are mostly over the oceans (this coming eclipse excepted) one must then realize that the fishes of the seas are all Trump supporters.

And how much different would that be if you just selected 240 counties at random?

If democrats were running the random selection it would be 53%/47% their favor...

If Hillary had won, the sun would be eclipsing the moon. LOL

The eclipse is taking place in the continental United States, and as such, would be seen in places that supported Trump. It would still be taking place no matter who those voters supported. Astronomical events are above politics.

Ever since the Earth has been in its current orbit around the Sun, and since the Moon has been circling the Earth, the exact day, time and location of this eclipse has been easy to calculate, by those who know how. The eclipse has nothing to do with Republican/democrat or with the “end of the world”/”end times”/”apocalypse crap”.

This is sick stupid shiite. Trump won 98.1% of all counties in America and THAT is why it doesn’t reach the dark corners where Democrats live.
