Knife Defense techniques has been around since the early centuries. With the use of firearms for self defense, defending against a knife has taken a back seat.
However, in some countries like the United Kingdom their stats of knife attacks happens every 4 seconds back in 2008 (dailymail.co.uk) this is more knife attacks per capita than U.S. gun attacks at the time.
Regardless, knife attacks do exist and here we will introduce functional knife defense that was design to be taught to the mass, learned in a few minutes, but needs to be honed. The more you practice the better you get.
There are many cases where a knife attack occurs, it can be from a distance (21 feet) where they come running madly at you with a blood curling cry. Or, you're in a fist fight and the next you know you feel sharp pains on your body or arms.
Yes, there are many self defense system out in the market. Take a look at this fella Sal Mascoli a USMC veteran explaining his way of handling a knife attack. Check out the full footage on self defense against a knife attack here. How about you all come across any good self defense system?
And how do you defend against an acid attack - this is rapidly becoming the muzzies preferred type of attack in the UK.
Sorry, but you’ll never win. Knife fighting is usually a savage attack and not some gentleman’s martial arts class.
Your only real defense is distance and a gun; break contact and shoot.
Few people can successfully engage a knife fight and not come out damaged or dead.
That is what my Marine hand to hand instructor taught me. You’re going to get cut. Best defense is running. Distance.
Dang it. You beat me to it.
What about fresh fruit?
Favorite scene for many. Notice he shoots above his head and the guy still drops:)

Wow. He makes it look easy, but I wouldn’t stand a chance.
Exactly. In the absence of a gun the best defense against knife attack is RUN.
Seems London better worry about defense against acid attacks
Even if you’re good with a blade, you’re gonna get cut in a knife fight. Distance and a pistol is your best bet.
Or a point-ed stick!
“...Few people can successfully engage a knife fight and not come out damaged or dead....”
Yep. Learned that the hard way many moons ago. And now at 67 years old, obviously I’m not about to “engage” any muzzie, or anyone else for that matter, with any kind of bladed weapon. I’m just gonna pop em right between the eyes with a .357SIG round and call it good.
you have got to be physically strong and quick with reflexes. A knife fight is way too up close and personal. I am not strong so I have to rely on being alert, aware, and a fast runner. A “pocket protector” ain’t bad idea either. And remember Obama said “if they come to the fight with a knife, we’ll bring a gun” mmmm
